Not yet. His brother Raul is still in charge of Cuba.

Fidel had been battling cancer for years. It finally got him. I suppose his doctors will be blamed.
 
Defiant to the end....and no it wasn't cancer but the lingering effects of an intestinal infection from 2006 that nearly killed him.

Castro is somebody who will not be missed. He was an A1 Butthead the world can do without.

Don't forget about Fulgencio Batista, former communist leader, before Castro, was responsible for 20,000 Cuban deaths. Also, Batista was involved with the mob and was very greedy when it came to profits from casinos in Havana during their time. Batista and other supporters were forced to leave before Castro took over on January 1, 1959.
 
My Pop was ready to meet Castro in the early 60's. It would have ended badly for Fidel. :afro:

Yeah, dictators usually get best healthcare since citizens are suffering like in North Korea.

Maybe... but Raul is 85 years old now...maybe another 5 years. There is a possibility that he will step down in 2018- as it was said that he pledged to do so. Will be interesting to see what direction Cuba will go now that the long shadow of Fidel is gone.
