Are you feeling depressed, incomplete, or tired of life as it is? Have you been unable to get the satisfaction from your religious life?
Take Christianity, and see what changes you see.
Christianity, one of the oldest remedies in the book or spiritual remedies, is now on sale at your local church for a grand total of zero dollars. In several independent studies, people who take Christianity experience various states of euphoria, satisfaction and happiness.
Pastor Rodney Kelly from West Jacksonville Baptist Church says:
"I'm satisfied (satisfied with Jesus, satisfied with Jesus)
Said He would be my comfort,
Said He would be my Guide,
Well, well, well,
I looked at my hands. My hands looked new
I looked my feet and they did too.
Ever since that wonderful day,
My soul's been satisfied.
Well it was way down yonder in the valley boys,
I was wondering all alone.
And it was there I met Jesus, well,
and He claimed me for His own.
Then He put His arms all around me there
and He drew me up to His side
Oh yes I'm satisfied..
Soul's been satis.. satisfied"

Christianity isn't for everyone, including those who have or have had a history of moral relativism, as it may cause a drop in tolerance of sin. Side-effects may include, but are not limited to:
a stand on issues,
A lack of fear of what happens after death
and :ugh: development of a moral compass.

If you have, or think you may have, a history of moral relativism in your own religious life, talk to your deacon about how Christianity will effect you personally.

So, are you ready to give up religion and trade it in for something that yields results? Then contact your local pastor and talk to him about Christianity. Go on, the rapture could happen any min...

If you didn't figure it out yet, this was a humorous presentation of the topic at hand. People say that Christianity is dangerous. Well, tell me how this is dangerous.

Well, not with Jesus Christ. He is the medication to heal the mind, soul and heart ... to make it new. Anyone who experiences Him will experience JOY and REFRESH. :)

Funny but I happen to know a number of devout Christians who are nonetheless clinically depressed.

Being religious does not exempt you or immunize you from the same mental health problems non-religious people experience. Your statement that Christianity is the "medication to heal the mind, soul and heart" shows both how naive and ill-informed you are as well as makes a strong statement about you not understanding depression or the relationship between religion and mental health.

You're not being a compassionate Christian by advocating religion as the solution to depression when it is quite clear from the psychological perspective that religion will *not* make a depressed person feel better or help their mental health situation improve. When a person is depressed, their issues need to be addressed as those of a person who is depressed.

Saying that if the person believes in Jesus he or she will get better is just nonsense and is no different from attempting to treat a headache with an antacid.

There seems to be a dearth of humor in this thread now.

Dr. Endymion (the world renowned otolaryngologist) prescribes a round of ritual bloodletting to cure the incendiary mood.

Everythin' you say is your contribute via opinions. You can not change what I believe in. You were wrong about me not bein' a compassionate Christian. In fact, you don't know me personally in real life. Attack me anytime, if you feel like, but I don't attempt to attack you in every thread you post for your different beliefs.

Mental illness and epilepsy were usually associated with demonic powers. The afflicted person was often isolated, and even abused in some cases. King Saul became mentally unstable and gained some help from music ( 1 Sam. 16:23 ). The Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar became mentally ill ( Dan. 4 ). The king's sanity was restored when he acknowledged the true God.

Soo, please ACCEPT what I believe in. Don't try to attack me or criticize me or judge me. I hope that you understand. No hard feelin' here. :)

I don't think you can solve or cure depression with Christianity.

Right now, I don't feel severely depress myself...
I did ask God to help me feel better mentally.
And I didn't take any medication.
Right now I just feel so relax now.

Some things do bother me is the gas price ugh, this war ugh,
fear of some people holding grudges and trying to sabotage me....

But soon I hope to overcome all through Jesus.

Don't shoot me for being the intermediary here, but I think Teresh is saying that religion does not guarantee a lifelong cure for a clinically depressed person. At the same time, religion can act as a solution, or how about a more lenient term, remedy, for some clinically depressed people who need spiritual guidance in their lives.

If religion fails, try humor. Laughter can be the best medicine. You cannot ignore the health benefits of laughter. It facilitates your thinking process from getting stuck in the mud. It alleviates stress. It dissolves anger. And above of all, it makes you feel good about yourself.

Have you noticed that children laugh far more than adults do? They must know something we adults don't know! I resolve to be a child in my heart for as long as I live.

Now, who wants to help me take over AD.com? :D

A person who born with bipolar disorder can't be fixed or cure because it is natural depression through generation of family. You can't critize or judge the Bipolar person by sinning. It does not cause sinning on bipolar person. It is born with bipolar disorder. therefore, you can't understand how that bipolar disorder person's feeling is much frustrating to face the truth. Even you can't read her/his behavior... it can't tell which one.

Throwstones

depression isn't a sin. I saw a man who was perfectly normal, and he killed himself the next day. How can a perfect man who had everything, good job, nice house, nice cars, rich, friend to many Blacks, Whites, Gays, and very open minded, very very nice, gain many recognitions, and then just kill himself the next day?

He showed no sign of depression and he didn't even tell people he was
sad or whatever. One day I would look around the room and stare at
people and see if they are really happy as they say they are.

There are some people with depression can hide their emotion very well and they pretend there is nothing wrong with them. Why they hide?

I agree with you, FreedummyRing! But a bipolar person needs a treatment from professional counselor that person can express their feeling to counselor than holding a feeling inside that would lead to hurt himself/herself.

A bipolar person can't trust anyone because anyone can't understand the bipolar person .. That is why a bipolar person hold a feeling inside.

Throwstones

Did God make people to have bipolar disease?

Or....

what??

Do people have "devils" inside of them so they have bipolar disease?

My 25 year old nephew is the only one who has imbalance chemical in his brain which is called "bipolar" that I just found it out in about 2 weeks ago that I never knew that. Why him? Is it because my brother does not believe in God completely and he said when he dies, that's it - no hell or no heaven or no afterlife. So is it the reason why his son got bipolar because of demons in him?????

Reba and CyberRed- maybe you know the answers?

Bipolar is very dangerous. Very sad!

Hi Momoftwo,

Don't mind if I ask? Does your nephew have Type I or Type II?

Hi Endymion-

I'm sorry that I have no idea. My sister told me about my brother's son in 2 weeks that I never knew that.

I remembered very well that in years ago, my mother told me about Alexander that he has inbalance chemical and he was very isolated and did not want to interact with his friends at all - "no socials at all". But I never knew what it was called until my sister told me about Alexander. I was so shocked. He is the only one who has bipolar disease. My brother and his wife noticed his behavior when he was preteen. Now, he is taking the medicine and is doing just fine. I hope so.

Momoftwo,

I'm glad to hear your nephew is doing fine! Some years ago I dated a woman who had Type II Bipolar, and I remember how that was. She was taking meds but I recall they had some share of side effects. Nonetheless, she is a charming, brilliant woman and we're still friends today.

Glad to hear about your friend that she's doing fine. My sister thinks that I should not ask my brother and his wife about their son because she thinks it's really personal and may be too upsetting to them if I asked them about Alexander.

My parents are dead so I can't ask my parents. So....oh well....

Momoftwo:)

i am bipolar, but i don't live with the demons. I am not sinning anything.
