FBI wants to access your online etc.

See? Another attempt of our government on trying to increase power against US citizens. They aren't afraid of US citizen anymore and this is getting scarier.

Our government should be afraid of US citizen in order to have true democracy. Our democracy is deteriorating already.

Glad I'm not on Verizon. :ugh2:

I think all federal agencies, including HS and DoD can already do that though, based on PATRIOT act. The main reason they are saying was to investigate the Tsarnaev bros.

This is not much of a surprise. Some of us have been warning about this for years.

My post says that I am not a Verizon customer, therefore it doesn't apply to me yet. I'm on AT&T, and not impacted as of yet. Did you know there was a federal case vs AT&T years ago about similar issue of NSA wiretapping?

I hope you understand that this is based on federal mobile (phone) intelligence. It isn't new, especially since PATRIOT act.
This issue has been around for years since 70s when FISA - Foreign Intelligence and Surveillance Act came out. It isn't new, it's just revised now to include smartphones. So far Verizon is one of the first.

Only with judge approval until Bush expanded it.

What that means before Bush era, in order to wiretap, somebody, investigators are required to submit request for wiretapping though court before doing so. After Bush ERA, some agencies are exempted from this rule, and I think they are going too far.

People phones where being tapped as far back as the 40's by the goverment

A warrant/court order was obtained in this case too....

You told me you never own a cellphone. You are safe. lol

Are you joking?? I have a computer and every phone call we made can be listen to by the government and it does not have to be a cell phone. Our emails are being read too, you better wake up . Phones where being listen into the 40's and there where no cells phone then.
