Father shoots daughter’s laptop after disrespectful Facebook post

Really? What happened? I try to never walk past 9pm. I frequently make quick runs to the store after 10, but I always go on my bike. Use a bike in this city. It's better than a car.

Yup, it happened in August during weekend when Gally shuttle bus was on modified schedule so we planned to go to union station to meet other friend to eat together. One friend and I decided to walk to subway station after Gally shuttle bus ended at 6:00 pm. When we were in middle of street so one thug went walked around me and I was doing nothing. He just gave me a nasty attitude and dirty talking that I couldn't understand him. He decided to walk away from me without robbing my things. I just wonders about what's wrong with him so we went ahead to subway station to get to union station.

After this situation, I'm too scared go off campus for while then got used with it.

When I was there the crips were taking over. I used to get my hair cut at a barber on H street. There was a laundromat across the street. In broad daylight a swarm of "gang members" (all wearing red) converged on the laundromat, dragged a couple out into the middle of the street and beat them to death. It was over in 3 minutes. They all left as quickly as they appeared.

The crips are blue and the bloods are red.

For haircut, I usually went to NoVA for haircut.

I forgot to make additional.

The neighborhood from Gally (on Florida Ave) to H Street is much improving than many years ago. This neighborhood is no longer majority blacks anymore, just mixed with other races. However, it is still cautious at night and there are good restaurants like Sticky Rice. Other street from Gally - West Virginia Ave isn't good area and much unsafe at night, but I do know that some Gally students live in this area, especially my good friend.

They were going to build the ATF headquarters near "Ivy City" so the city spent a lot of money improving that area.

I had similar encounters you described about people trying to intimidate me - I got used to it and became street smart very fast. The panhandlers were everywhere - and I would usually ask them for change before they asked me for anything (beat them to the chase).

You really need to get off campus - go to Ben's Chili Bowl.

I didn't realize they had bloods and crips in DC. I thought it was a West Coast/LA thing?

Anyway, I still avoid that area even in the day. But I've had plenty of random people just yell at me or give me attitude. There is this crazy asshole who walks around the neighborhood in a onesie and ghetto blaster, and he makes obscene gestures at everyone and talks shit to them. At least that's what it seems like. I don't know, I can't understand him at all. If I see him again and there is a cop nearby, I will report him. He just tries to intimidate people.

I went off-campus at plenty times, especially weekend with friends so I decided to withdrew from Gally after finished with fall semester because I couldn't keep IBS under control. The IBS has greatly disturbed my life and I feel like not very productive citizen until I try to keep under control.

IBS is stands for Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Dude, you gotta change your diet. Stop drinking soda and eating crap. Only eat healthy, organic veggies and whole, unprocessed foods! Sorry to hear about it though. Hope you're able to get back on track and back into school soon. Good luck!

My dad has IBS - eat lots of granola and nuts and yes, stay away from soda. Drink gatorade instead.

That what exactly about my doctor told me and change in diet has failed to keep IBS under control, even Gally cafeteria attempted to cook special diet for me but it won't feel make very function with life. I'm on medication to get intestinal cramping under control and the diarrhea had switched to combination of constipation and diarrhea that caused painful cramping. My IBS usually changes over time and I do not know about any prediction - normal? diarrhea? constipation? combination of constipation and diarrhea? All unknown until I feel it. Having medication isn't perfect and sometime, it won't response that cause frustration in my life. Some anti-spasm medicines works for while but went much worse that require ER for extremely painful cramping that I had experience.

I'm thinking about alternatives, however switch to different probiotic has failed on me so I'm sticking with one probiotic that is most effective but not perfect at all. I will see a new GI specialist that has strong relationship with patients and more familiar with IBS because my old GI specialist doesn't have strong relationship and mediocre for patients with IBS.

I usually eat non-oily meats, vegetables, homemade rolls/bread, some fruits (especially grapes), rices, oatmeal and several are friendly to IBS, however, the diet is no longer to be big factor to my IBS anymore and just more like other something.

The soda (Sprite and Ginger Ale) has no effect on my IBS because gas from soda usually belching out of my mouth instead of send gas to intestine, however I couldn't drink Pepsi and Coca Cola (all of cola), along with all diet soda, including Sprite due causing intestinal pain and discomfort.

Gatorade is good as well and water is too but I usually drink water in conservatively because excess water increased more diarrhea aka more bathroom trip.

Oatmeal works good for me with constipation but it won't form at all during diarrhea.

This is what 150 rounds of .223, 65 rounds of .45 ACP, 75 rounds of 22 LR do to a computer tower.

AND NO.. THIS WASN'T MY COMPUTER TO SHOOT UP. DIDN'T EVEN BELONG TO ME. SO NO ONE YELL ABOUT ME NOT DONATING IT. LOL. IT WAS COMPLETELY HOSED!

I found it from Tommy Jordan's picture from his facebook. Look like shot computer was not his first time.

My 8 year old daughter stepped way out of line and you know what I did? I took her computer privileges away for a month. She's not touched the computer at home for almost a month. Today she whined about it and I gave her a stern warning that if she continued to whine about it, I would make her wait an additional week. She immediately stopped whining about it. Three more days and she will get *some* of her computer privileges back. She mostly plays games through her school's Learning is Fun site. She also lost her iPod indefinitely when she was caught with it at school after being told repeatedly to NEVER take it to school. Her DS has also been taken away for the same reason the computer was taken away.

In my house, either you obey the rules and do what is expected of you or you lose privileges for a while. Two weeks is a slap on the wrist. Older kids will simply just wait it out or they will go to a friend's house and use their computer - to an 8 year old, one month is a long time, for an older kid, they would lose the privileges for at least two months - that's almost an entire summer vacation.

I remember growing up, if I got bad grades, my privileges were revoked until the next report card came out - yes I lost privileges for an entire 9-week grading period, but I didn't forget it and didn't repeat the mistake twice.
