Famous events from when you were little?

Oklahoma bombing was the biggest one. I was attending college at that time and was about 100 miles from the Murray federal building. I saw bloodbank vans parked on the campus and I asked this woman what happened. She said "there was a bomb blast in OKC". I was shocked and later saw the whole thing on the news. I thought the world has gone crazy and nobody was safe.

I remember some events in my life,

Attempt to shot the Pope at close range, in 1981, but he is still alive today!
Attempt to shot Ronald Reagan.

Munich Olympic Massacre
Britain's Poll Tax War
Britain's Miners Strike Victory 1984-5
Bobby Sands's Hungar Strike
Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper) arrested.

Hillsborough football fire

and of course Australia's Hoddle Street and Hobart Tasmania's shooting massacre.

Three different popes all in one year in 1980s.

hey tekkmortal it is strange because that kinda of exact what happen at my college same time you were there at college with the okla bombing but I didnt know about it until I had to go home since I couldn't get in classes as my college got the bomb threat on same day. In fact, I am about only 200 miles from oklahoma city.

I remmy this too and found some more info. Can't believe that she's almost 20 years old now. Good thing she can't remmy what happened - no nightmares.

Claim To Fame: On October 14, 1987, at age 18 months she fell into a well in Midland, Texas and was the central news story the world over as rescuers worked feverishly for 3 days before she was safely retrieved from the well.

Where Are They Now: She is currently (as at 2004) a teenager growing up in Texas, she has had 15 surgeries over the years but does not remember the incident at all. Her lifetime dream is to sing the national anthem at the Superbowl. Her plans are to go to college, get married, raise a family.

I remmy the Baby Jessica thing, even thou I was only in second grade when that happened.I always crack up thinking of the Simpson's parody of it....."We're sending our love down the well!"
Does anyone remember the Jonestown massacre? I don't....happened before I was born but I'm suprised it didn't make some people's lists.

Yes, I remember it but I didn't mention it because I was not "little" at that time. I was a married lady and mom by then.
