Fall 2014 begins

Hey Mark, I'm counting on you for an accurate weather report. We will be in Chicago 10/22 through 10/29. Actually staying in Inverness, IL. Trying to decide if I need to buy a new coat. I'm hoping for COLD weather.

That should be easy to do, although I did see a preliminary report of 40's on the 22nd, but since it's only the 10th, it's way too early to know that for sure. More likely I'll know by the 20th.

Though I answered your question about the river, I wondered if you were asking about the river picture; that one is the St. Louis River. It's about 15 minutes north of Moose Lake.

Ooops, sorry...got it now...a totally different place. In fact, if I recall correctly, there is/was a State hospital in Moose Lake. My Dad who worked for the State hospital in Faribault would drive up there on business. Quite a drive as I recall....

Horse. It's a Chicago Police memorial that honors fallen officers killed in the line of duty. See those colors on the legs? That is the Chicago Police colors.
