Extra ThickWall Tubing for Ultra Power Aids.

Spreader opens the top of the tubing to make it easier to get onto the earhook.

Ohhh ok that would definitely help! Although I have a harder time getting it off than on lol.

At the moment, I use ThickWall tubing which is 3.1mm and I get a huge amount of feedback with well fitting ear molds.

I just found out that there is such thing as Extra ThickWall which is 4mm.

Anyone use this and find it good and better then ThickWall tubing?

Think I'm gonna order some.

The outside diameter of the tubing is the same for thin or thick walls.

If your tubing is 100% sealed inside your earmold, having thicker walls will not make a difference in feedback.

Take a look at the hook where your tube connects to the hearing aid. If it is hardened, chances are there are small cracks at the connection. If you take the tube off the hook often to remove moisture, the tube is most likely stretched at that location, causing feedback, especially if you put your hand over it.

Most ebay sellers of tubing sell them cheap, check them out.

p.s. Thick wall tubing is better than thin for two big reasons: Does not crimp as easily, and does not stretch as easily too.

We can buy clear tubing for chemicals, vehicles, etc, that never harden or crack, but not for hearing aids. Can't blame the mfr's....it is like light bulbs...you can make a light bulb last forever, but if you do, you won't make money selling replacements.

STANDARD SIZE - diameter: internal 1.5mm/external 2mm

THICKWALL- diameter: internal 2mm/external 3.1mm

EXTRA THICKWALL - diameter: internal 2mm/external 4mm

These are the measurements (not including Thinwall as no one users it really), there is a huge different in external size. I cant use standard size as I just get continuous feedback.
I've used Thickwall which is a lot better. I've been told and read that extra Thickwall is a lot better :)

If your tube was pre-drilled with 2mm holes, you will need to use the same diameter tube, which can come in different thicknesses, unless you plan to drill a bigger hole, which would make it a waste of time, right? Can you get thicker tube with your standard hole size?

My ear molds are made for Thickwall but I've spoken to a friend of a friend who now uses extra Thickwall with the same ear molds that were made for Thickwall. She has soft molds which means its easier to put bigger tubes in. Tighter is better for her, she says.

I've even put Thickwall in my Grandmas hard molds as she had run out. Hard to get in but was fine once in. She has also managed to get it out since to change her tubes again.

I've just put the extra Thickwall tubing on and the sound quality is SO much better. Things seem clearer which is always good :) Personally extra Thickwall provides more sound and less feedback then the Thickwall :)
