it's weird. sometimes i write down, ms. alldeaf in a general one like at work. But i have to write down MRS. alldeaf for my kids' school that they can give the notes to teacher. to be honest, i dont feel comfortbale being called "mrs." because mrs sounds like to me, "old married lady". :dunno:

milfie :naughty:

Most of the older ladies I know will be offended if someone calls them Ms.

I work together with a lot of Americans for over 23 years. They use their title as "Ms" and "Mrs.", not even use "Miss" once... :dunno2:

"Ms" is a neutral title for married, unmarried and divorced. I noticed more and more women prefer Ms over Miss or Mrs. :dunno2:

You know France is few hours away from my area... I went there a lot. I would like to ask you as person who live in France.

Is those word "Mademoiselle" to call single or unmarried French an insult due their age? Correct? They prefer to call "Mme" (Madame) instead of Mademosielle... like here in single Germans who prefer to call "Frau" instead of "Fräulein".

We (Germans and French) have no problem with marital status because we only use Mme and Frau to single or unmarried women but UK... women have 3 different marital status... some feel offensive and have their own preference... but their preference are being ignored... Oh well...

Well there are women who don't mind being called Madame or Mademoiselle whether married or not. Then there are women who either don't like being called Madame or Mademoiselle depending on their marital status or age.

I, as a single, 32y old and still VERY young looking don't mind being called either Mademoiselle or Madame. I asked several of my girlfriends (hence the late reply) and most of the ones that are married want to be called Madame (but still feel flattered if they are being referred to as Mademoiselle :giggle:) and the single ones either like Mademoiselle or Madame.

It seems like every woman has a different point of view in that aspect so a gentleman has a 50/50 chance of getting it right as I can see it

Most of my girlfriends don't consider it as an insult if people get it the wrong way after all we are not running around wearing a shirt that reads please call me Mademoiselle/Madame.

Did that answer your question? I'm not so sure... :hmm:

Jiro, I don't mind... either way I am ok with it... but Mademoiselle is still nice since I consider myself still young... I guess that at the age of 55 and still unmarried I'd prefer Madame, considering my age :giggle:

Jamie

PS. Just watch out for the spelling of MadamE!!! ;)

 The word "Mademoiselle" sound a romantic to me... "Madam" sound "snobby" word to me.... something like that in English language... Yes Sir, or Yes Madam...

I would prefer "Mademoiselle" over Madam if I live in France... :D

Depends if you finish your sentence every time with Madame or Mademoiselle then it starts getting annoying and I'm like  Dude get a grip!
