Got a lawnmower? Paint brush? Broom? Car?
I think maybe his (Yiz's) problem is he cannot be physically away from his wife very long on a daily basis.

I think he said that before.....yeah. But to be honest, that is not an unemployment benefits issue.

Yep, damn if I do and damn if I don't.
But I do love taking care of my wife, it's a full time job doing it. But it doesn't pay. One company said I could get paid, but I can't live with my wife.

That's awesome. While at the courts this morning I saw a broken elevator and thought of this thread. :P
Well, there are several broken elevators here at my work. Some of them are working, some of them are not. I do have an ID card, but I could not open the exit doors...stupid.
The company is willing to pay you to take care of the wife... Where are they getting the money to pay you from?
Alright, that makes sense. Then why can't they hire someone else to do the task while you can work?Medicaid and Medicare obviously.

Point taken.....
They have, we have a Nurse Aid, but limited to 60 hrs a month. Not much for me as far as a job. But I would think they'd be delighted to pay me as I would be much cheaper compare to paying a company like 200 bux a day to send a nurse aid out here who is being paid less than 8 bux an hr.

Hope you didn't take that as rude.....it wasn't meant that way.
It's not like I don't sympathize with the situation (I lost a wife remember) but I believe rules are rules. Unemployment was not set up for this. Government was not set up for this.
Solutions? Church, family, friends, charities, fundraisers, creating your own business that you can do from home, appeal to media, appeal to Dr's, appeal to firemen (always charitable) appeal to your Rep's (I believe he said he tried this one), loans, appeal to disability office......and if all these fail....move, your community sucks.
One bit of advice......Although extremely difficult......put on a positive face. People are more inclined to help people who confront their adversity in a positive manner. People tend to avoid the gloomy, human nature.
Well, you just showed me that there is a way. Why not have a friend establish a company to provide nurse aid, and hire a nurse, pay them $10 an hour, charge them $11 an hour and you can work? That way everyone wins.
There's many ways around the system. I've shown people that there are ways. I even posted on it.
From what I see here, I think my opinions of what is going on is pretty clear to you...
I'll just say this much; I don't really believe you want to get a job.
All of the above is what I am saying. Especially moving.
With all the posts I've seen from Yiz, it seems like he is in between a rock and a hard place. That is the reason I suggested the move to Europe/Cuba.

Yeah, right, moving, with what? *pulls out empty pocket* and why the hell do I wanna live any of those god awful places anyway?

I do, but I don't wanna leave my wife alone. So I am stuck in between. With people as renal patients (dialysis), their life expectancy is 2-5 years (I'm repeating what the renal doctor says). She's been on it over 2.
Not only that, I have a very bad back (two injuries, 1994 and last year in August) so I do wanna work, but if an employer finds out I have a very bad back, chances of being hired will be slim as they don't want the liability, much less pay workman's comp if I got injured on the job. Also my psoriasis is also effecting my bones, my finger joints is swollen and the pain comes and goes, as well as my knees and my neck and getting worse as I get older. (If you want, I have a doctor report on all that, send me a PM)
Btw, you don't know me, if I were you, I tread lightly on that accusation.
Thank you,
Yiz
I know all the above. I've seen you complain about all the above. The fact remains:
1.) You constantly get bothered by the "unemployment extensions"
2.) You made it clear that it was possible to get nursing for your wife.
3.) You come up with reasons not go to work.
That's what I base my opinions on.
If anything, I would suggest a fresher perspective on things. See what positive you can get out of this situation. There is always a way around things. Take this from me, I been there, I have been weaving a lot... Again, always a way.
At the worst: you could just drop her off at the hospital... They are required by law to take care of her. You could visit, etc but that isn't the same as at home care.
I'd start off by trying not to be angry at the system. Being angry deludes your thinking and that is the absolute worse thing for you. It is what it is for now. Find what your options are. There are much more than you think.
