Dual Core Netbook

I was browsing through to find out if there are newer Netbooks coming up this fall. I was hoping that I could see more powerful netbooks but I found out that They will have Dual Core Atom netbook coming up next year. Intel DC Atom codename "Pineview". I read that some netbook will have Nvidia Ion 9400M graphics which can play better games than current Netbooks. It may not be powerful as you expected but playable with most 3D games. The battery life would not be 9 hours but lot shorter than that because of 8 Watts power consumption from Dual Core Atom processors. They may sell around $500.

netbooks are a waste of time, moreso its PITA cus it driven up the prices of laptops.
 
I doubt so. There's always good price on Notebooks. Remember we're still in Recession and people still out of jobs. I'm sure that Economics will force manufacturers to lower the price to let people buy Notebooks until Economics get better. If it get expensive. less people will buy. Also there's holiday, back to school sales ect lowers the Notebook price anyway. They'll understand money :rofl:

I wanted 12" laptops which is thin and powerful. It cost $1,200 at Microcenter. While the bigger Laptop tend to be cheaper. :shrug:

The Netbook even Dual core Atom can't match the power of Notebook anyway and they'll still be cheap. I am willing to shell $500 or a bit more for it.

The reason why I just wanted Dual Core Netbook is because I want fast and smooth performance and...

-VP Videophone (install ZPC100)
-browsing nets
-play 3D games using "virtual CDrom drive" (games that doesn't demand too much graphic power)
-configures customer's router or transfer files to repair customer's computers
-watch DVD movies (using DVD Catalyst 3 to convert it to smaller movie file format fit for Netbooks using thumbdrive or transfer it to its harddrive)
-watch online TV shows
-Use Linux and learn how to build programs.
and several more.

I don't use word processor, Excel, and Power point, I rarely use it tho..

I just want to be able to carry around with me when I need it. Something small and simple and light but yet powerful. I want to tuck it in my coat pocket or little backpack. That's why I am looking forward for Nvidia graphic chipset to be included in Netbooks. So It's not a waste.

My 15.4 inch widescreen laptop is "too big" for me to carry. I got jealous of those who had smaller laptops. My laptop was a gift from friend that I helped.

I wanted Asus netbook cuz they knew lot of user rather play 3d game like World of Witchcraft ect. I read the report that Asus plays better than most netbooks. The gamer did lists many games that can be played on Netbook.

Lastly, it would be a good replacement for my old Dell 500mhz laptop. (it have Xubuntu and 256mb ram and puny 4mb video). I use my old laptop for travel purpose and able to use my BB Curve as Modem. It still have good 1 hour battery life... My Acer laptop currently don't have battery, I pulled it out and left it in workbench and it's cracked open. I didn't care much about it.)

Yeah Few weeks ago, I had read this somewhere internet before you created this.

If they selling netbook with dual core atom for $400 or more.. I would buy regular notebook instead of netbook. For instance: My SEXY gateway notebook with athlon 64 dual core & 4GB RAM for 500 Bargain bucks!
 
Oh interesting, it's good for people who want smaller and more powerful as regular computer.

I think dual core Atom could be give more performance as Pentium 4 does so it's good for normal computer usage.
 
Speaking of netbook, iPod and iPhone is already powerful than u could imagine
 
thought funny, ipod or iphone CAN'T compare with netbook. the same concept of apples can't compare with oranges..

anyway I heard that Intel will selling atom cpu to public in 2010..
 
I don't like netbooks anyway...too small screen to view high resolution webpages.

Yeah, no problem if you dislike netbook... mobile (cellphone) device is too small then netbook, IMO.. ;)

don't get me wrong, i do admire the netbook, however I just compliant that 10inch netbook's screen resolution is limit option settings. I had experienced with my 10inch netbook for a year. But the 11.9 inch CULV netbook's screen resolution is much improvement and more option setting like regular desktop or laptop's screen resolution.. My loveely lady had the adorable one..

Otherwise he's having an "airy" ego bigger than his room. There's no such Dell Dual Core Atom netbook!!

It DOES NOT EXIST in USA!! It won't be here till later this fall or winter. Asus EEE 1201n Dual Core 12" netbook will be coming to USA soon. It cost around $500. It's already in Europe, and Asian countries.
