There you go.
Probably one of my biggest weakness is seen children cry. I just feel like I need to go hug them and tell them everything is going to be allright. So there is a few children here in the hospital, and sadly some of them rarely get any visits from their parents. (Some because they have to work and other sadly cuz they don't really care) And like me...or maybe even more than me...they get bored. So I had been asking permission all week and manage to get permission to do some stuff for the children. Between ym fiancé and I, we arraged some games that all kids could play. We read some books to them. For the girls we did their nails (and some of the boys nails too) And at the end each of them got a small gift. They all seem pretty happy, that really made my day.
Lol. Im not awsome im epic. Jk jk. Not really trying to be any of thise things just wanna cheer up some kids.
If I knew where to go visit a nursing home, I would, but the problem is my hearing, because I do not have enough hearing left to be able to understand voice. However, I'm pretty sure I'll find something I CAN do.
I hear voice with my HA but I don't understand voice, so I get what you mean. I photograph in hospitals as a volunteer.... I do NILMDTS photographing stillborn babies for the families and I photograph for Flashes of Hope photographing kids with cancer. Sometimes it's just about DOING things rather than being there to chat and be more conversational. Use what you know & love.... if you know and love puppets, put on a puppet show. You could dress up as a clown and do balloons as a mime once a month. You could just pull together a collection of toys for their rooms or volunteer to paint a mural. It's not just about talking with the patients
Inspirational, you are. I might do that someday.
Do it!
Through the "grapevine" I met a little boy, Jonathan, who survived stage 4 liver cancer at age 3 (he's 1 year in remission, but the family is still in need because they were hit with hurricane sandy while he was in treatment).... I'm photographing him and the family in January. First thing I noticed in his candid photos? Bright and colorful hearing aids with flames on the sides haha I think if I remember right chemotherapy is ototoxic?
It is. Chemo sucks. That is an amazing thing you are doing for those families. And also to have the tlant of photography is awesome. It sounds like you are a really kind hearted person. ^_^
It not only sucks-- for some kids it's terrifying.
I had leukemia as a kid and have had other forms of cnacer though the years. Never needed chemo only as a kid. So yeah is is pretty bad. And its nice to k ow that now they make those dolls. It really is.and thay bow they think of ways to explain to kids these things.
Thanks!! Yeah a few days ago they sceatd me saying the cancer was back, but after more test they saw that they were wrong. It was such a relief!!! Oo probably on monday ill have more things for the kids to do. But anyone have any fun ideas for them?
