Probably one of my biggest weakness is seen children cry. I just feel like I need to go hug them and tell them everything is going to be allright. So there is a few children here in the hospital, and sadly some of them rarely get any visits from their parents. (Some because they have to work and other sadly cuz they don't really care) And like me...or maybe even more than me...they get bored. So I had been asking permission all week and manage to get permission to do some stuff for the children. Between ym fiancé and I, we arraged some games that all kids could play. We read some books to them. For the girls we did their nails (and some of the boys nails too) And at the end each of them got a small gift. They all seem pretty happy, that really made my day.

How sweet. That is one of the best things anyone could ever do-- cheer up a child.

Well these kids deserve to have fun and be happy. No one was doinh anything about it so i did it!!

And you deserve credit for that. A medal, even, if I had my way.

Not really. If i could send these kids home then i would deserve that medal. But its not to get a medal really. I love kids. Its just worth it when you see thme smile. Thats all i need.

That's true..... making them smile is a good thing to do. Parents who don't care should not have the right to have children, in my opinion. Anyways.. it's a good thing you care. That's what they need.

It is nice that you care, because not enough do. I know on the weekends sometimes I go into hospitals and elderly homes to visit with them and read or talk with them. Elderly get very lonely too sadly. :( Relatives stop visiting... just sad. :( It always makes me feel good to go in and just give them a new ear to speak to. :) Not enough people care as you are doing these days, and if they do...certainly not enough go acting on it. :(

I have always liked kids. I can't really have any of my own but one day i hope i can adopt a kid. And well i get along better with kids than most adults. Lol.

I'm not too experienced on how to visit kids in the hospital, but I DO have some experience visiting the elderly in nursing homes.... getting me thinking about doing something good before I head home somehow.

I usually volunteer in this one place where my grandma goes and spends the day sometimes. They make activities for the elderly. And i help around or just let them talk to me. There was a day that most of them came to visit me. Saying it was their turn to take care of me. That made me cry in a good way. Here in hospital well there isnt many elderly actuqlly. Not sure why.

I don't want to answer that, but I can tell you it's a sad answer. Most hospitals do not have a lot of elderly. :( Most of the patients here are younger, which sucks a lot of the time. They're not NEARLY as nice as the elderly people I get in! :(

If I knew where to go visit a nursing home, I would, but the problem is my hearing, because I do not have enough hearing left to be able to understand voice. However, I'm pretty sure I'll find something I CAN do.

I said i dodnt know why but i get what you mean. Tell you truth many of the elderly are very healthy here. Only a few have to stay in hospital. And well many families decied to take them home at times and tskr care of them there. Idk what other might think. Bit i think its betyer they sre home. Well that is if they will be treated the right way.

I know I definitely plan to have a house my parents can move in me with when they get older. I will NOT stick them in a nursing home to live and just forget about them, HELL no! They took care of me when I was a kid and pooping / screaming I wanted to eat and watch my shows, the least I can do is that for them! However, I will have a CNA to deal with the pooping should it ever get that far... I'm not doing that crap.... No friggin way....

Yeah. My grandma lives in my aunts hoise becuase we disnt have any place for her to stay. But well im usually the one in charge of her. But really now a day she only needs help sorting out her medications. She is still a cool grandma and i love her. But then im also thr favorite granddaughter. Lol. While i would take my parents in. I don't see either of them accepting the offer. But then it is more likely they go live with me than my sister.

I love my grandma! Even though she's a crazy old Romanian lady that relates everything back to in Romania. :laugh2: The other day for example when she made a dessert that contained coconut. *In her thick Romanian accent* Me: "Grandma, I'm allergic to coconut, I can't eat that." Grandma: " Back in Romania, people didn't have allergies... America everyone has allergies, it has weakened your immune system, don't be wuss, eat coconut... show it who's boss" :laugh2: OOooooooooh grandma.... :laugh2:

If my parents ever needed help, they are most likely to ask me to move back down south to help them out, and for reasons I'd rather not share just yet, I cannot move back down there, but I WOULD be willing to travel up and down my Amtrak line quite often, just to make sure they're okay, but I'll have to find someone to help them should it get that far...... and find a personal driver (no taxis included, as it's a 30-mile trip from the Amtrak station to my parents house).

Lol. My grandma is oyher memeber in family who is a blood jewish. And she is allergic to pork. So once she staryed to freak out when i was eating pork (im not alletgic) and made me spit it out even if i insisyed it was fine. She thinks all jewish are allergic to pork.

My health would be biggest problem when it comes to taking car eof them when they are older.
