I'm probably going to be getting a new phone from at&t, but the thing is, my dad wants to know if they give discounts for deaf people. So, thats my only question for those who has at&t

I believe it applies the similar TAP plans to blackberries - however correct me if I am wrong.

If you want $29.99 monthly data plan without voice from Sprint Relay Store. BlackBerry Curve 3350i

here's link: Sprint Relay Store & Sprint

AT&T doesn't give discount for blackberries, I have one from them and I asked, recently. They said no.

Then again I checked website and it seems like they have it. I am not sure now. Oh well.

ATT can bite me. That plan is a rip off and ATT is a terrible provider.

I'd get sprint or get a pay-as-you-go plan on a phone with Wi-Fi (which is what I do. I pay 20$ a month for unlimited txts and I can use my phone for internet wherever I there's a hotspot, which is a lot of places)

I don't think they give discounts, they only give limit plan for the deaf. Most cellphone companies do. That is, if you want to use your voice, you have to pay regular plans. I think they only offer data-plan to the deaf.

well my parents aren't going to be switching companies from sprint to verizon to another phone company. They perfer At&t, i'm not sure why. Many of my friends told me to switch to verizon especially because at&t sucks. But My dad is looking into the TAP plan for me. he said its more expensive than the regular phone plan, its about 30 dollars extra? Not sure, But once my dad gets off of work next week on thursday, he's going to be looking into that and talk with an at&t specialist.

If your Dad has, in fact, found the TAP plan, all that's left to do is print the appropriate forms on their site and take it to your audie, certified hearing aid dealer or your personal physician for them to sign off on the fact of your deafness(they might even provide an audiogram) and mail/fax it back to AT&T and you're all set. In the interim, pick the lowest rate your Dad can find and then after your TAP plan is accessed/approved, you'll be all set.

Yes, I can understand your father point of view. Since he maybe already in "family plan" and was hoping that he can use TAP plan with "Family Plan". What he was trying to do is to get best deal out of it. There are many father or mother are looking at best budget for what they can afford. Just try to remember that your father is in motivation to get you one not only because he reject what you want. He only looking for what he can able to afford.

Now as far as TAP plan (beside iPhone) most of them are about $35 for unlimited text and data. For iPhone cost more.

Here's the link for more information about TAP plan:

You will get better idea.

ah okay thanks. Well, my dad didn't go to the AT&t store because he has to leave for work at 3:30ish and he doesn't leave work until almost 4AM, he works at a hospital. Anyways, he said he would probably go to the store next week when he has time to think and talk to a specialist. So that way work isn't in the way of getting into things.
