Does a 20 year old have the right to

I grew up in the 80s when parents kicked us, kids, out of the house to play all day. We were taught to come back when the street lights come on.

Not unique to the 80's...parents have been kicking their children outside to play (and work) every generation...that's the only way they get anything done. As much as everyone wants to think their generation is the most advanced...it still comes down to "the more things change, the more they remain the same..." Things have a way coming back again.

I know that children have played outside in generations before mine. In today's times, it is not the same. Kids are not playing on the streets like when I was a kid. I kick my son and my roommate's son out to play with the other kids in the community. They come back and say that nobody is outside playing. Just so different now. I don't agree with keeping kids cooped up in the house all day but today's kids seem to prefer computers, iPads, and video games than being outside on a beautiful day. Ugh...I don't approve. they should be outside and getting some exercise.

No it's basic economics at work here. Not as many people got them, not as much competition as far as jewelers and piercers go. When I got mine done there was only place in town to get it done, and they probably didn't have a big selection of suppliers to choose from. The demand just wasn't there yet. As it became more common there were more companies in the business, and they have to compete with one another, drives prices down.

Ok you win Miss Economics lol

Are you looking from the parent's perspective or are you the child in this question?

I want to get a belly button ring but my parents, especially my mother, went into a fit over the idea.

I appreciate the responses. I decided not to do it since I still live at home. Thanks.

Mimsy. Uh, in case you did not know, that there is a lot, I mean, countless of people over 30s of age are living with their parents. Parents are not telling what to do on some things like tattoos, drinking, getting pierced amd among other things. But as long as they have to respect the parents and helping them out such as paying the rent and doing the chores as needed. The parents have rights to kick them out if the adult children are on drugs and drugs are in the house which they forbid it. Same thing goes for porn.

If you are like me, you probably asked your parents a question like "Why do we have to give up meat during Lent?" and were told "Because that is the way it is, now stop asking stupid questions".

Maybe I should get a tatt. Probably should get one on the back of my neck that says "Caution...work in progress".

No, you shouldn't. It wasn't a stupid question.
