Doctor Who/Nerdfighters

From what I know, it will have no tie-ins with the TV show. It's going to be a standalone franchise. He said it's going to take a few years before it hits the big screen.

Should be interesting to see what he has to offer.

I can't decide whether this idea intrigues or terrifies me...
 
I've watched the 2011 Christmas special twice now. Loved it! The first time was on Christmas Day with my family. It had me in tears. The second time was this evening and even then it caused my eyes to water.

Makes me wonder how they're going to do the movie. Are they going to follow the concept of the television series or do something completely different?
