My both 2 years old Flecky & Blacky chewed the water boiler wire... It doesn't work anymore... :pissed: It's third time...

I don't understand them anymore because they have any toys, cupboards, scratch post, cat house, etc at playground, basement of my house...

Of course I gave them vitamins but I don't understand anymore why they depend on water boiler wire ONLY...

My both cats Sussi and Kim (killed by road accident last year) never do that... but Kim's 2 daughters Flecky & Blacky...

Have you any idea how to stop them from chew the wire?

Grrrhhhh....

lol! when my dog was a puppy.. he chewed on everything.. including my dad's audio cable and it's extremely expensive! Of course.... he was FURIOUS as hell. he chewed on a lot of thing as a puppy but it wore off when he grew up. The only thing he chews are bones and his toys.

GOOD DOG! <pat him>

btw - i'm not sure what's water boiler wire. is it electrical wire or a tube to transport water?

Oh God. 240v is much dangerous voltage than 120v in American. Cats can be killed while chewing.

Liebling - i'm assuming you're talking about electrical wire. Here's what my dad did when my dog chewed on wires. He bought PVC tube (small diameter) and put all wires thru it.

Yes, give the pets toys and cupboard to prevent them from chew anything but it doesn't work on my both cats sometimes. I spray with water to let them know that they are not allow to near water boiler... It does work sometimes...

oooooooohhh!!!!!!! THAT water boiler... I was thinking of a huge water boiler tank in garage for hot water :laugh2:

hhhmmm... I don't know any effective solution other than putting it away in cabinet after you're done with water boiler.

I alway pull the plug out before I finish to use water boiler to boil for tea or anything. Never, never leave plug in the outlet... it would harm children and pet. It would kill the toddlers and the pets if you leave the plug on the outlet.

but you don't have toddlers anymore, do you?

Yes, that's what we thought so... it's third time already... but we use water spray to educate both naughty cats Flecky & Blacky to keep away from water boiler... If our education doesn't help if they do that again for fourth time then I will have to put water boiler away to cabinet. It's suck if I have to get water boiler out of cabinet more often for boil the tea.

 no, I don't have toddlers anymore but it's my habit to pull the plug out of the outlet...

:laugh2: understandable. a hard habit to get rid of. it's probably a good practice as well - it saves electricity! :cool2:

yes that's what I mean - you put the wire thru that tube so that the cats can't chew on it. it's a very hard plastic tube.

Ah I get it... It's good suggestion... I will check with my hubby about this.

hopefully the cats will grow out of it soon and you won't have to put it back into cabinet anymore :dunno:

oh man i have no clue how to stop your kitties. if your cords have covered with all rubbers. add the bitter flavors on it so they taste it and dislike it at all. maybe they wont chew it again anymore?? i dont know how to stop kitties. i think your kitties found their own good flavors is your water boiler's cords. sorry.

it is probably your best solution for now other than putting it back into cabinet. I hope it works! :cool2:

My dogs still chew plastic especially my son's toys! But Tahoe seemed don't care for it anymore...maybe out of blue she would but Tinkerbell, still! When Tinkerbell was a puppy, she chewed my trackball wire! I had to replace a new one. GRRRR! I told her NO over and over and finally she fed up.

You should go to computer store for flexible nylon convolute wire loom.
