I was reading at the Cochlear website and they even stated that you don't have to turn your CI off in the plane when they request computers, cell phones, etc to be turned off because they are medical devices. You do need to let the flight staff know that you are wearing one, however. I think the main reason that there is concern for the CI is the processor and magnetic fields which can damage the mapping. I may be wrong on that, but that was my interpretation.
