Americans didn't act like that when I was in USA... :shrug: but few said "hello" when they saw me for 2nd time where I went for morning walk at neighborhood, that's all.

I look at their houses when I walk on the path instead of over their property and got the house owners look at me and said "hello"... normally I should say "good morning" which I did here in Germany but in America is different...

So the homeowners said HELLO to you! And what did you do? Did you get scared and run away because you didn't want to get shot?

You know you should say hello back and ask about their house. They would love to talk to you because a lot of people love to brag about their homes... and their cars too! and their hobbies!! You know a lot of stuff too like raising plants, putting some food on your garden to prevent rabbits from eating your garden, etc. They would love to hear your tips too. Too bad you didn't take opportunity to talk with homeowners......

Hello or Good Morning.... both are same thing - it's called GREETING. There are pretty much dozen different greetings in America. I usually say YO WASSUP! with a 2-fingers salute everytime I go to my work. My gf says "hhheeeeeyyyyyyy." My boss says "GOOD MORNING!" My colleague says "yoooooooo!"

So... you still haven't answered my question. What did you do when the homeowner said HELLO! Why would you get offended if he/she didn't say GOOD MORNING? :scratch:

exactly my point. We smile/wave to strangers and if we do talk, we shake hands and exchange our names. That is American culture and American custom of greeting. I am not saying your culture is bad.
