Do you trust Cop or not?

Last night, my mom and I had a little arugment about trust cops. I actually has a tiny like a ant trust cops becuse of their ego and actions. toward disable people like us. There only a few good cops out there but I won't trust big but only little trust cops. My mom always trust them but know that there only a few good cops out there.

-I wanted to know if you trust cops or not. Why or why not?

i trust them with 89% at the time

Why i trust them?
they saved my life when i was five years from my wicked parents

Why i dont trust them?
Because they are annoying nosy plus not helpful when i got my car broke down one time. Bad cops!

Source: 84-year-old man allegedly beaten by police officer after calling 911 | The Raw Story

That's a damn shame and there is such a thing as a citizen's arrest. At least it exists in my state. Rarely used, but if done correctly, cops would not have a problem as long one doesn't get all puffed up with an attitude.

I hope that stupid cop eventually gets fired.....

Yiz

Citizen's Arrest is alive and real. But with the cops being the way they are, nobody wants to do it.

These punks got fired....

Cop beats the crap out of a CITY COUNCILMAN....the cop who sides with the other Counsilmens over a disagreement of political issues.

The Counsilmen that asked the cop to throw him out were unprofessional, cry babies and downright unpolitical. Wow, what a bunch of pussies these guys are.

Dailymotion - Police Officer Opens Door With Councilman's Head - a News & Politics video

LOL that Counsilwoman was clearly embarrassed by the behavior of these crybabies and prolly wished she didn't show up for the counsel meeting. Just because they disagree with an issue that David Synder brought up, they had to make a scene and act like cry babies.

One fault though, David made a comment about the Officer escorting him out, something about the cop being his body guard or something to that effect. Whatever it was, it made the cop get all pissed off, pushed him out the door and beat the snot out of him, handcuffed him and took him to jail.

If a cop can't handle snide remarks, he has no business wearing the badge. Period. It's free speech, which can include colorful metaphors as well. That's what the solders fought and died for, even if it means talking like an idiot. He/she still has that right.

I've read about bad cops but in my 60 years of life I've never had a bad experience with one, nor have any of my family members had a bad experience with one.

no and yes. thats all i can say. any form of authorized officers are the same thing such as FBI CIA US MARSHALL and more.

I only trust my brother whos a NYPD.

Well.... One FBI, four policemen and five State cops in my family.. They are respect to disable people!!.. Also four deaf included me, two of my cousin state cops adopted blind son and one mild MS? :)

If disable people acting stupid or not respect then cops will be not nice!

If we don't trust the police, then who can we expect to help us when we call 911? :hmm:

like anything else - there's cops who are kind, able to see themselves in others, trustworthy, etc - and stressed, broken cops who have so much sh#@ built up inside them that they don't see, for whatever reason, that they don't behave kindly. Then the issue becomes - when you have such a group of broken people in authority protecting each other only and reacting to their own stuff and off each other - then you get a problem.

I've encountered a few bad cops so no, I definitely don't trust them at all because they have a tendency to abuse their power.

This may seem off topic but it is related.
If you had a video of or were a witness of an accused harming our even killing a cop, would you come forward?
Houston is famous for the MM getting it's hands and using videos of cops going "downtown l on the accused. At least once a year the city has to defend itself because of the video.

However, there has been the need foote the DA's office to bring criminal charges against those who won't turn over a video of an accused actually killing a police officer. How does the DA know about the video? Because people can not keep it to themself and brag and show the video to a friend. Then they have the gall to actually deny having the video.

The consequences of the general public refuse to get involved is what makes cops "bad".
They get the idea no one will help and their life is in danger, so all constrain goes out the window and they go over-board with their respond.

So ask yourself, next time you see a "crime" happening will you get involved?
I did last week......help catch a shoplifter! Later found to have a switchbladein his pocket.

I don't trust cops. I knew a deaf man who was killed by cops. He was a track star at VSDB and he used to run around with his jacket with the words I'm proud of the Deaf.

One day he visited some friends at a housing project and cops mistook him for someone else When he didn't do as they ordered, they thought he was resisting them and shot and killed him. This man was no criminal.

When some burgler broke into my apt, I told the cop that I had misplaced my key and that I thought the burgler stole it. I found out later on that the cop thought I was faking a break in and that I had given the key to my Mexican BF. I've never had a Mexican BF and if I had one, he would be deaf. it took a while to get everything straightened out but in the end the insurance paid off for my items. Serves me right for not using terps.

From my opinion cops are the piece of shit they are not able for any kind of trust they do anything agaisnt of law if u show them money and you talk about trust funny thing is that cop not even trust on his any family members then how we all can trust on single stupid cop huh

Again, I say, there are good ones and bad ones. It's the same with almost any other profession. Some are not trained well, and others are "burned out" on the job. Still others have bad days as well. We have 7 Sheriffs officers living in our neighborhood and now 3 Florida State Troopers just moved in. Of the 7 Sheriff's officers, 3 are detectives. All of them are very good at what they do and very concerned about the welfare of people in the neighborhood.

What makes this whole thing so bad is the publicity. You never hear about the good things, only the bad things. Here in our area, the Sheriff's office may be taking over the duties of a city police department due to total corruption in that department. 17 officers and the administration staff have all been fired and are facing major issues now. That area is known for the drugs, prostitution, and gang warfare. What makes it harder is that that department also has jurisdiction over the Port with boats and ships making deliveries.

But, on the flip side, we also have a local police department who goes out and gets involved with the neighborhoods and really connects with their people. They join in with the street basketball games and help children with homework. One officer uses a day off to babysit this one single mothers 5 children, so the mother can go to the grocery without all the children.

Not here. Never, ever, trust a local cop. We all know the good ones because there are so few of them. They are known for severely beating people and when you complain about it you will get on their "list". You will always have trouble. They lie and cover up about the beatings. It happens on the street and in the jails. I have photos of people who have been beaten. They ask me not to complain because it only gets worse if you do. Many investigations have been launched and the cops are always found innocent.
They even beat a kid (about 17 yrs old) who was WC bound. All the local bondsmen and anyone who has contact with the system has a similar story. All bad.

I know it's difficult to say about do you trust or not trust to cops. I have few friends who involved in police forces. I have one friend, a police officer who married to deaf woman. Also, our company work with police forces. Hearing from their personal experience is very very difficult and stressful job. Try to imagine yourself of having many people come to you (just you out of 100 people each day) spewing at you, cussing at you, lying at you, bloodie HIV positive person, pushed and shove at you, and many more that you can imagine every day. Can you handle it? Can you smile every day? It take a big toll on you mentally. Secondly, try to imagine yourself with little number of police officers taking calls from 1000 people each day. It's stressful... It's a nerve wacking decision making of to shoot or not to shoot. After having a stressful time, if one police officer holding gun at him ordered a person to follow what he say, if he refused, police officer will suddenly sweat profusly, fear increased, getting tired of hearing refusing police orders, then..... bang. He just simply couldn't handle it because of his one small false move and shot him.
It's not an easy job.
I never had a problem with any of the police officers, I got pulled over because I didn't make a complete stop at a stop sign. So, I quickly pulled out my Driver license, registration, insurance. The the police officer came to my side, I quickly tell him I'm deaf and told him that I'm sure he need my driver license, insurance and registration. Then I explained to him that I believe I didn't make a complete stop at the stop sign. Police gave a thumb up meaning "yes". I told him "Yes I didn't make a complete stop". So, he went back to his car and few minutes later, he came to me and gave me a warning ticket. I told him thanks. Just before he was leaving, I called out to him and said, "You have a safe day". Officer looked at me, with a big smile and gave a double thumbs up and saying "Thanks".
You know this story above, it make his work lot easier just by simply telling him a truth and make his work faster because he got lot of boat load in front of him. Now, if I do everything completely opposite, like cussing at him or saying "Now WHAT I DID WRONG!!!!" and all other bullshit, the officer feeling will turned to nasty and getting fed up. It's hard to control his feeling... now think about it what I said above, of having someone spit at you everyday... can you handle it? Nah....

Cops are trying to be good cops..but can lead to bad cops.

ADDED: Oh one more thing.. for any deaf people, please don't act an idiot. Just help him/her and cooperate with him/her. That will make his/her job lot easier and surely he/she will feel appreaciated. You know from hearing some of the police officers experience and they asked me about how to handle deaf people. Just follow what he/she want and do it. Remember he/she had a stressful day and don't want to add another problems.

I've had some good and bad experience with cops.

In my hometown, cops had this mentality of "shoot now, ask later" kinda thing. When I was 11 my stepdad tried to kill me (he was drunk and was pissed that I wanted to move out and live with my mom) he straggled me and there were marks on my neck. Cops came and said there were no marks... when it was clear I couldn't speak and I was in pain. If it wasn't for his friend being my witness, they prolly would of let it be. Because of that, I have found it hard to trust cops. Being a child, asking for help from someone your SUPPOSED to look up to that you were taught to call in any emergency.... looked at me like I was a kid full of lies.

Since I have moved, cops in my area are 50/50. I have seen some good ones and I have seen some cocky-know-it-all-power-hungry ones.

But, that is my take on cops.
