Do you love to live in the state?

Pinky, where in Indiana do you live? My sister lives on a lake in Noblesville. I was there two months ago. We had a great time.

I lived in Layfette, IN for year. It was a good year but I missed being near the water since I grew up on Long Island (NY). I lived upstate NY for 4 yrs (RIT) then lived in Miami, Fl for 13 yrs and now the past four years, just south of Sarasota, FL. We stayed in Colorado for the summer when I was ten.

Where we are is good, but we're looking to move further inland someday.

It'll never happen, not until the US reaches nearly the same population density as those countries to make such a transportation system viable.

South Korea is #21 with 493 people per square km, Japan is #32 on the list at 332 people per square km, Europe averages around 70+ people per square km, while the US is #180 at 31 people per square km.

We do have a rail network, but taking a train from one coast to the other can take days. If super-fast train technology (mag-lev, or a type of TGV) becomes a lot cheaper then you might see it happen and only if there's a big national push for it.

Unfortunately, the US is still in love with the automobile, and the Interstate system that began construction in the '50s has only reinforced that feeling. It's going to be a long long time before the US gets an idea to build such a country-wide high speed train network.

Til then, you'll have to be content with regional commuter trains that serve a metropolitan area, or 3 in the case of the Baltimore/Philadelphia/NY systems.

I'd actually love to live in Arizona - more precisely - Flagstaff in Summer, Phoenix in Winter.

It sound like Florida's weather. It always rain off on off every afternoon to evening. But I never live in Florida before. I went to Florida last month ago. Where is in Washington do you use to live in? I heard in Washington State have large Microsoft company. Please read my post above. I would love to go Seattle for visit. Expect my ex bf live there. Born and raised in Phx, AZ and then moved to MD in 99.

I love MD more than Phx, AZ because of:

more rain, especially thunderstorms
It is GREEEEENNN!
4 seasons
closer to the beach
more cities nearby to visit


Phx is cheaper, yes but cost of living there is starting to go up due to the popularity.

My allergies have improved since moving to MD which I found odd. I think I was seriously allergic to the desert ragweeds.
 
I was born in Texas. I love to living in Arkansas. I don't like town name El Dorado that's where I live. Two more years later, We will pay off the note for our house then we will move to Texarkana, Arkansas in the future.

Yeah! Luck you! My husband said his best friend is plan to move back to Florida again. He was born in Vero Beach, FL. My husband asked me, "how do you feeling about move to Florida after college and we can stay there for few years then move other state?" i was alike yeah. We would like to take my future kids go to beach and Disney World and more. Do you like Florida than California?
 
Really? Why did you moved to MD? I am curious. Is that true about MD is expensive to live? I never hear of ragweed before. In Indiana have Pollen, Mold, Grass, and Tree. I am allergy to Pollen. My husband is allergy to Pollen and Grass. He can't ever mow a grass. That's so sad!

I had lived in FL, GA, AL, CA then currently in IL.

I love CA more than IL because of less humidity, less bad allergy and great climate.

IL is ok but winter is pretty bad and spring is bad due pollen, high humidity in late spring to summer, both of CA and IL has different environment and architecture on building, such as house, apt, condo, retail and businesses.

How about use mask to cover nose and mouth when mow? it won't work on mine because hard to breath.

I do have bad allergy, it can treat with Rx to prevent it but not 100% effective, maybe 80% or less.

I moved to MD in '99 to go to Gallaudet University for my Master's Degree. Best decision I have ever made besides having my children.

Yes, MD is very expensive to live. It is ridiculous!

Yea, desert ragweed..will have to look it up to see exactly what it is.
 
Hey. I am sorry I mean yellow weeds not a tree. I can't stand the yellow weeds on grass. My dad had allergy to yellow weeds. I will check it out about ragweed picture on google soon.

I can tell that MD is expensive because near to ocean. And close to DC too. Am I right??

Well. We don't live in a house yet. He said if he do mow a lawn. He will wear a mask. He don't like to do job for lawn. He can't stand to smell it. He rather not do his job on lawn. We want to live in Condo because someone will take care of grasses.

ILL and Indiana are the same climate. I didn't like the humidity too. I've been go to ILL before. Do you live in Chicago? It's expensive to live. It's same as California. Do you think California is more expensive than ILL right? How about California and Florida between?

I love PA, my hubby wants to move to AZ. I told him, go ahead. I don't want to live in the brown desert with the tarantulas and scorpions. Ew.
 
Shel. I am sorry. I didn't realized that in my state have Ragweed. It's the worst than Arizona. But you're lucky to live in MD. Because I saw the map.

In my 28 years that I have lived in AZ, I can count the number of times I have seen scorpions on my hand (not ASL-wise) and I have never seen a wild trantula raoming free. The only times I saw them were at zoos or zt pet stores in captivity. In the city (Phx) it is very very rare to see scorpions. The times that I saw them was mostly way out in the desert while camping or hiking.
 
Has anyone ever lived in Rhode Island? It's rare that I would hear from anyone that has or is living there. What is it like out there?

That is so interesting!! No wonder my allergies improved when I moved to MD. Thanks for this info...I never knew that!
