Do you like to hear and enjoy the music beat ?

not really. it gives me headache but I do like it when I'm in that mood. Most of time..... I like to listen to something like Chloe Agnew (at high volume) or Brandenburg Concertos.

Oddly enough - when I'm in good mood, I prefer to listen to something somber and deep like Chloe's Ave Maria. :dunno:

 I don't like to listen passively, and you may notice I said "trying" to learn.

Maybe no one will ever want to see me do that, but yes I enjoy the concept of maybe I can learn the piano. Not the subltle parts like Jiro talked about with phrasing and pedal, but to get the notes in the right order at the right time.

You have to know the rhythm and the beat. Get your body in the flow in order to learn. Either by hearing what you can, feeling the beat or what not.

Just getting it that mode is an awesome feeling!

I applaud you for "trying" to learn. I am sure you can do it! Takes a little passion for music. :)

I always enjoy music whether its my own or others. In my studio, I have a half stack with a decent sized speaker that is behind me so that the sound goes to the microphones of my hearing aids better. I also can feel the beat on the floor too which makes for a more inclusive experience of music. I have never in my life understood lyrics, so I guess I do not know what I am missing as far as that goes. I LOVE anything 80's because of the driving beats and mid-freq synth parts and strong bass lines. I like to play Foriener's Inside Information CD real loud on my amp. I usually wait until I am home alone to crank up the amp to where I can fully hear it and then jam out. I also listen to 80's cds to find sounds that I want to recreate on my synthesizers. I can also control every parameter of a sound on my synths. I create sounds with a basic square wave that is rich in harmonics and then use parameters that are called ENVs for pitch, wave-shaping, and signal amp output. Every sound (waveforms) has a beginning, middle and end phase or ADSR. I tend to make sounds that are easier to hear even with hearing loss, like sounds with a strong ADSR and that do not increase in volume so much that there is distortion of the waveform over time.
Anyway I really enjoy listening to music and creating it as well. I slowly lost more of my hearing and always kept playing music and always will no matter what. Even with a very limited freq range from 250hz to 3khz, I work with what I have. I play and create music everyday for 20 years of my 26 year life. Keeps me happy.
Reading the posts that others have written about music is inspiring to me and I talk about AD and ADers to my sis too.
Keep jammin out everyone! :)

Who originally started that song? "Drift Away" ?

I believe it was Dobie Gray who recorded the original version. I can't remember what year, though. The current version by Uncle Kracker is pretty good, too. I enjoy listening to it.
