Do you guys embrace your hearing loss/deafness?!

Last check=up with my ENT...he took a look into my right Ear and said...."It's not normal"....Instead of my saying..."Of course it isn't!...3 operations and I have no ear drums, plus the ear is somewhat infected".....I said nothing at all....

My left ear is not "normal" either....3 surgeries, no ear drums, ear canal is covered up, etc., etc.!...It's does not look "like the normal ear", (what it's supposed to look like inside)....but on the outside, my ears "look normal".
 
"normal" can be BS...

and is contextual...

I'm me - with everything that I have, am or understand, or don't get or do differently. If have obvious purple hearing aids or no hearing aids, when I'm counting on my fingers or taking longer than someone else...I'm me and if you feel I'm abnormal or want to judge me, that's your problem. You can try to make it my problem, but your fear and insecurity is your own, whether or not you own it.

But is it a crime to have different POV?

And I DID explained my different POV is not to cause hurt,
but it is in accordance with an international dictionary.


I think I proved THIS when I pointed out:

if Ms Bebonang says "normal hearing"
and it mean "like a hearing person hearing"
and it is NOT a slur,
then it is not a slur because it is NOT a slur
not because Bebonang said so.

But that's just it - I don't feel you are abnormal, and I don't judge you.

Why do you assume by simply saying "normal hearing" I judge you abnormal?

I am simply stating your hearing (or mine) is not as it is according
to the standard accepted by general majority, which is - a hearing people.
That's exactly the definition what Bebonang used. I am using the very same.

Does that mean I judge you "abnormal", or just your hearing?

And is it it true, after all, our hearing according to the general standards -is abnormal? - since we can't hear well.

Now, what the heck is "my insecurity" and what does it has to do with everything? how did you arrived at that????
aren't you assuming too much?

we are talking about the term "normal HEARING ", and how one person is allowed to use it and another doesn't.

But just FYI, I have black HAs and short hair - I am not ashamed anymore
of my hearing aids, although it does took time for me to get 100% comfortable with wearing them out in the open.
