Do you feel that wearing a trinket will protect you?

In other words, a cross, the star of david ankh, pentagram etc. If so, why and how?

Nah, that trinket will not protect anyone. A trinket is just a thing, not God.

I don't believe those things have any special protective "power".

No, I don't wear any jewelry for "protection" reasons. That is superstitious.

No, i dont believe wearing a "cross" necklace does protect
you from evil or anything like that but people wear them
just to let other people know that they are "religious" or whatever,
maybe not really religious, like cuz its pretty, thats all, lol!
I have a Jewish friend that wears "Star of David" necklace
all the time. I asked her one time why she wears it all the
time, her reply was that it was required of her faith that
she must wear it! oh well, whatever!

Most people wear them not for "protection" but rather as a proclaimation of their faith.

Nope. I have a feeling I -don't- need a piece of jewlery to express my faith in public, and I certainly don't need any item to provide fictional "protection"

I don't wear any of those things for protection either. Although I do wear a small cross to let people know I am a christian.

Sorry to be off topic, but umm that nasty avatar is sooo
offensive cuz it is degrading to women, geez. It would be
nice if you would remove it.

I don't believe that anything would protect you from harm... unless it's a bulletproof vest? ;)

Oh, wait... that won't work if someone shoots you in the head or the leg. :Ohno:

You mean this wreath of garlic I wear around my neck won't protect me from vampires? Oh, no! :eek3:

Nope. I've been taking allergy medicine. So, garlic doesn't have an effect on me any more. *evil cackling*

In Islam, God tells all Muslims to look like Muslims so that they look different from the rest of the people. That may include their jewelries as well.

I wear it because I feel closer to Him. Some people carry bible with them all the time because they feel closer to God.

My point was not that I shouldn't look Muslim, but that anyone on the street would right away know I'm Muslim already, and that I don't need further way to express that.

Depending on the trinket is idolatry. But nothing wrong by wearing it. Not all people who wears a cross means they are a christians. Most wearing it, is bec it's their style.

I thought that all Muslim women are not allowed to have a jewerly or face makeup. Well, it was my mistake.

Another subject, a few days ago, I saw a Hispanic man walked in a store and worn a big thick gold cross on his neck. It's like 5" x 4". I bet that it worth $3,000. I don't understand it. Is he shows off? (It is a real gold - I was a former jewerly maker a couple of years ago.)
