Andy, it does help. I know a friend of mine who has MS and use the medical marijuana to help her combat the illness of MS and the medicine she takes.

Like I said it has some effects but the whole legalize medical marijuana thing is just a stepping stone to get smoking it legal. Just look at how many people in California have prescription cards for no reason.

The effects of alcohol is much worse. I wouldn't worry about marijuana.

I know. I quit drinking cause it was destroying me but weed just calms me down and makes me relax. I have a brother that gets mean when he drinks and it gets him in trouble a lot. The only reason weed has ever gotten us in trouble is because of the legal problems. No blacking out and not knowing what you did is a plus too.

Some people think it's OK to grow marijuana in their back yard, huh?...What about their kids, neighbor kids? Smoking it in ur own house, ur kids catching the 2nd hand smoke....getting high along with you? That's OK?

Kids start with cigarettes, then go to pot....drinking...then along to other harder drugs. Isn't that the cycle? Teenage kids driving stoned....acting "silly" and thinking everything is funny.....

So to legalize it for over "21"...an adult is OK too?...I remember working with a lot of potheads....they would go out to lunch, come back, stoned. The boss had an awful time trying to get the work out, so many, many mistakes.

Hiding it from ur kids?....They're gonna find it regardless and know the "smell"....and assume that since their parents smoke pot, it's really OK. Same as for alcohol....I have none in my home. But when I go out with other adults and have a glass of wine, etc., that's OK with me as long as I don't get falling down drunk and my kids seeing me in that position.

Alcholic drink is worse than marijuana.

Yup, agreed and I limited alcohol consumption to special occasion and holidays, but I could drink on regular day sometime. Drinking alcohol caused me to have trouble with stomach and darker urine, especially after drank 2 bottles of beer.

Which is more dangerous? tobacco or marijuana

I don't have nor want kids and the neighbors kids better stay out of my yard.

Those are called pot heads. Just like there are alcoholics. Casual users don't do that

What about people that don't have a problem with using it and teach their kids not to abuse it

Legalizing marijuana will also help open up the hemp market considerably as well.

This is actually the reason why marijuana was outlawed in the first place, so that hemp could be simultaneously banned along with it, thus opening the door for many specialized textile and chemical markets that could have been completely filled by hemp, a ridiculously easy to grow, durable supercrop.

If marijuana is legalized in California, we will probably see a boom in the hemp industry there, making the cost of hemp goods much more affordable (or what they should have cost to begin with.)

Jesus, I can't believe I am in 100% agreement with kokonut over something. Wow. :eek3:

I certainly agree that it is a less harmful substance than alcohol.

I find it interesting that I, being one of the most likely people to see the long term effects, am in a huge minority here. Does my experience jade me?

I voted for medicinal purposes only.

I smoked it for 35+ years. I know what happens. I have friends that have smoked it that long. Not going into details, but I see what happens, and voted accordingly. Somewhere, someone is making a note to use this admission against me in a future post. Count on it.

I know about the outlawing. Hemp is durable stuff and can be utilized in many different ways. The U.S. Constitution's paper is made out of hemp.

Nah. My mother has been a heavy user and I don't like the side effects - hence the reason I said I dont smoke it.
