Do you believe in having a spare phone?

But!!!! Say you pay your insurance for a year and a half, that's $180, then you break your phone. So you have to pay $100, maybe $200 for the deductible to get a new phone.

If you'd kept your last phone you could have saved yourself $280-$380 by just having your old phone hook backed up.

Obviously this only works if just get a new phone as an upgrade, not because your old phone is broken.

Like I just go an iPhone 5, it's no skin off my back to hang into my 4, just in case. Nothing will probably happen to my 5 before I upgrade again. But it's no big deal to chuck in my sick drawer and not have to pay insurance. :)

I will probably keep my Android for a while- not only as a backup but it's a good way to test apps when programming them (as I just discovered- need to finish that course lol).

My niece kept her old iPhone and is using it in her car as a "iPod". I asked if I could take it lol because I could use it as a testing device too (that and use it with my GOW game...hehe)

I go through a lot of phones.... :ugh: :laugh2:

Usually, in some almost nearly unbelievable story, running to my car and watching it slide from my pocket off the garage ledge through the wiring ( those thick cables but have a opening at the bottom ) to the ground below and smash into 100 pieces... * okay this happened once but telling T-Mobile this was hilarious regardless! * :laugh2: I think I need to invest in one of those Otter boxes I keep hearing about... :hmm: :laugh2:

I have only wrecked one. Not a smart smart phone a samsung intensity II. I dropped it in a cup of coffee :/

You know...in that case you're better off with the insurance :D plus a phone has to survive to become a spare ;)

Careful though, they could cut you off! My mom has lost so many phones the insurance company won't cover hers anymore lol

:laugh2: That's terrible! I don't lose them.... I usually just destroy them in one way or another.... :ugh:

I don't need spare one because iphone 5c is not expensive to replace.

got draw full of them but tend to use phone I understand.. I on contract so t/mob send me new phone every two years hardly any of them used

Technically I don't have a phone, I have a deactivated old smartphone and as long as I have internet, I can email and use an app to text for free, not to mention I have the IPrelay app to place calls. If that fails, I have a nook that can do the same. So yes, in a way I do have a spare. :)
