Wednesday, Feb 2nd is the Groundhog Day !!!

You will want to be sure that you check your WeatherBug bright and early Wednesday morning for the first news about the famous groundhog`s winter outlook.

WeatherBug, the only source for live neighborhood weather, will be streaming LIVE weather conditions direct from Punxsutawney Pennsylvania, via the WeatherBug Storm Truck on Wednesday morning.

WeatherBug will also be keeping a blog (web journal) of the event, as narrated by WeatherBug Chief Meteorologist, Mark Hoekzema and Chief Chirp, Stephanie Blozy.

Stephanie will begin coverage of the festivities surrounding the event on Monday, January 31. She will have interviews with the Inner Circle and bring exclusive coverage on the parties and celebrations.

Catch the live action as Punxsutawney Phil makes his grand appearance, predicting a long or short winter! See why over 50 million people have relied on WeatherBug for their daily weather conditions (groundhog or not).

Also, WeatherBug will be looking for your own pictures of Groundhog Day weather from your neighborhood. Make sure you take a picture of your local weather and submit it along with your own weather prognostication in the "Your Photos" section of WeatherBug.

just that americans worship groundhogs.. cuz they're gods for telling us spring is near.. JK

ground hog day is famous cuz back in hundrend years ago.. people see groundhogs taking a peek while they were hibrating druing the winter. and then 6 weeks later spring is back.... and they set the date feb 2nd... its the only day when groundhog go outside druing winter (not real date just average)

Ooh right! Thanks for explaining that DeafScuba, I thought it was something to do with that film with Bill Murray in it, it was also called Groundhog Day

Ditto...but it's my birthday as well. :P

I know there's a reason for having Phil 'test' on whether spring was coming real soon or 6 more weeks...but just can't recall it in great details.

An excuse to have a holiday? :D

it has to do nothing with groundhog takign a peek.. it has to do with clouds... if its cloudy then they are holding heat in and making spring come in 6 weeks... if its sunny then its when heat go out.. at least thats what i heard

so they used groundhog since if its sunny they see shadows.... so..

personally i dont believe it. i just simply wait till snow melt and it get warmer :-P

This just in: Groundhog saw his shadow!

Yes, indeedy, Punxsutawney Phil popped out of his burrow hole, spotted his shadow, said "EEEK! Six more weeks of winter!" and disappeared back into the burrow again.

Here'sthe link: Punxsutawney Phil predicts prolonged cold

So, keep your fireplaces going for another six weeks!
