I respectfully disagree with you about how people will find it insulting if I say "Our God" It's the same as "Our Father" "Our Lord" "Our Heavenly Father" "Our Heavenly God"

Yes, I see no problem for that but the problem is other religion beleivers who view differently.

If you talk to a person who have same belief as you then you can say "Our God", "My God" or whatever. It's not just Christians but any different religion believers would say to religion beleivers who beleive in same religion "Our God" or "My God".

It doesn't mean that you are wrong but want you aware there're different religion believers around here, that's all. It would make them feel insult and offensive when you said to them "Our God" because you and a person did beleive in different to worship God in different way.

I'm not here to pleased anyone, If I want to say "Our God" I have that right.

I know it's not forbid to say anything but its about respect.

The Bible even says "Our God, Our Father" etc. so you're doing good. :)

Logical, it's your bible you choose to beleive in which is different as other religion beleiver who beleive in different as you. You can talk to a person who have same belief as you... "Our God"... but not to a person who do not have same belief as your belief.

I hope you understand where different religion believers come from.

When we die...Whether if we find the light, gate of Heaven, stairway of Heaven, the dark or Hell, whatever is there, or nothing at all. Many people sees differently...If we actually see one, any of above, then we decide whether if we shall meet the maker or not...if we do meet our maker, God will tell us the truth as of everything of his existence and the Bible...

We do not know the truth...we do not know who is lying...we do not know who is right or wrong...We do not know everything...

*nodding agreement*

Pardon me? isn't this a public forum? You and the others pretty much say all you want but we cannot share ours to others? Wow *speechless*

Do I understand there are different religion on this forum and what makes you think I don't? All I was saying to Cheri that she can say whatever she wants to say that stated in the Bible, its you that have a problem with HOW she says it.

Respect?? If people take offended that because they choose to take offended. I have nothing to be ashamed of for what I call my Father, who's the Creator of this world.

It's not my fault if people do not want to accept God, but don't expect me follow other people's path, I follow what I believe in, I have that freedom of choice.

End of the Discussion. ;)

You misunderstand me. I am not saying that you are wrong or whatever but offer my POV to avoid any anger and misunderstand from different religion believers.

Honestly, I really has no problem with you for say that but we tried to tell you and want you aware that different religion beleivers would feel being insult and offend to hear those word "Our God" or "My God" because they beleive differently as you.

I only offer my POV and want you aware it, no more than anything.

Okay, this is your choice.

No, you said the Trinity is not in the Bible but it IS there as a concept that you apparently cannot see just because the word, Trinity can't be found. Perhaps if you stop copying and pasting things to make it look like you wrote it (you don't give cites), and tell us in your own words what it is you believe in, I would respect you more.

Do yourself a favor and stop accusing me about coping and pasting. There is no rules says I can't use the informations in the dictionary. Is that says in AD's rules where it say I can't use the dictionary? I already know it not int he bible as I posted the informations. Enough on your personal attacks to me. End of the discussion! Peace.

I understand and I do respect your pov. I don't even use the word "My God", or "Our God" in my posts but if others wants to, then they can, we should respect theirs as well too. don't you agree? :fingersx:

I disagree.

These people that feel "insulted" or "offended" don't have a problem using our money as it does say, " In God We Trust " on it.

I totally forgot about that, I should hug you for this. Thanks for pointing that out.

Also Why the American Flag Is Folded 13 Times?

  • The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.
  • The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life.
  • The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world.
  • The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.
  • The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."
  • The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
  • The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they are found within or without the boundaries of our republic.
  • The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day.
  • The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
  • The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.
  • The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
  • The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies in their eyes, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our nation's motto, "In God We Trust."

Really? WOW! I didn't know that either. Learn something new everyday!

It is certainly up to each individual to decide whether he/she believes in God or not. It is wrong for anyone to hassle and/or force them to believe in God.

I am here to defend GarnetTigerMom, Tousi because your personal attack is not acceptance.

Do you read GarnetTigerMom´s post? She did said it´s dictionary, she typed and copied. Why only her? I have seen ADers copied and pasted but I choose to not say anything. If you don´t like what you see then PM her to solve with her, not humliate her here.

Please re-read her post... she did said she copied from her dictonary. I feel you owe her an apology.

I agree and she was not the only one in AD that does copy and post...I have seen someone else does it too.

I am sorry you disagree. But what does this has to do with an insult or being offended?

Some do feel that way because they kept saying Our God and their God is not ours...
