do hearing people offend........

I grew up round hearies ppl and many of them make fun of me because i am deaf ... when i was young and i got mad and start fight and few years later i start realized that fight doesn't solve any problem ... so I decide what to do about it ?? and had good idea and when someone make fun of me ... and I did confront them and write the notes and ask them why are they doing like that ??? they say " huh ? " I told them they shouldn't make fun of me for no reasons ... If u want to learn sign langauges i will be more than happy to teach u ... therefore we become very good friends and most of my friends heard someone else make fun of me and they stood it up for me which shock me big times... even impress me that their attutide has been changed and improved.. It make me so glad that I am doing right things to set record straight ..

I remember when I was a little girl, I was in the pool with a bunch of hearies and we were playing Margo, Polo. then some hearies came up to me and asked me a question (Which I do not remember) I responded and they said " What? What?! I can't hear you" At first I thought they were serious so I kinda yelled it out, and then they started cracking up laughing at me. I got so mad I got out of the pool and went to the dressing room crying so bad that I threw my hearing aides at the wall and broke them. Then I relized that they didn't know sign at all. So I went back and started to sign at them. They were like " huh? " then I said " exactly!" To this day they refuse to even talk to me now. Heh.

Wow..that was so mean of them...but at least you got back at them! :lol

Another thing I remembered when I was growing up -- I was mainstreaming at a hearing public school...a lot of kids often forgot that I was deaf as I talked and lip read so well...whenever they had a 'secret' to tell me, they'd try to whisper it into my ears. I had to back away and remind them that I couldn't hear them whisper in my ear, talk directly into my face and I'll lip read. They'd get embarrassed and tell me their 'secret' by holding their hands around their mouths and mouth the words to me!

hearing peopole call the deaf hearing impaired, while most would rather be called deaf. it's ok if they call us deafies, because of the same reason.

Did you mean Marco Polo, that game that similar to 'Simon Says'? Just wondering. I haven't played Marco Polo, but have played Simon Says.

marco polo is where a group of people are in a pool, anf a person say Marco, with their eyes closed, and the others say polo and the one person has to find someone else to do his job. listening to the polo's

how could you play marco polo if you are deaf?

And it is more fun to play that game with Deafies than hearing people, because it involve more challenge and close body contact. Hearing people just swim far, far away and start yelling "Marco Polo!" And I would yell at the hearies playing that game, "You are BOOOOOORING!" I conclude that Deaf Marco Polo game is more CHAMP!

and no offense to the hearies. ;)
