I am not sure how to configure DNS on Windows XP Pro for domain manager to connect DNS server for website. Because I want to build my own web server on my computer with 10-100MBPS upload/download (fiber connection). Do you know how to do it? If yes, explain how and I will appreciate you =). If you know that Windows XP Pro doesn't have DNS server, then what OS has DNS server?

I'm pretty sure that XP Pro doesn't give you the capability to be a DNS server. You'd have to use Windows 2000 Server edition.
 
You would have to use Windows 2003 server standing Edition. It has DNS server. :bowdown:
 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES software has webserver/DNS server. It is cheaper
than Windows server. Also, it is better reliable and good beginning for
small-medium website.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS is designed for big website.

Maybe, I will order Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES software.

Has my vote too. You'd be better off IMO with using Enterprise. I use it on all of our servers and it makes DNS management so much easier.
 
you can run your own webserver on 98/me/2000/xp etc..

dont have to be have a windows server unless you want to run more than one domain or run a business for hosting....

download IIS 6.0 on microsoft website and install it. then configuation the internet service manger in admin folder under control panel.

then you can work on your web files and put in wwwroot or your perfered folder to run (make sure you put correct path in wwwroot propteries)

even... you may need to set yuor dmz host so can avoid from firewall if your on router.

then hm.. if you want to use domain instead of ip... im me ill tell you how to run it.
