Very interesting tidbits about divorces:

1. If you're a married American, your marriage is between 40 and 50 percent likely to end in divorce.

4. If your parents were divorced, you're at least 40 percent more likely to get divorced than if they weren't. If your parents married others after divorcing, you're 91 percent more likely to get divorced.

7. If you're an evangelical Christian adult who has been married, there's a 26 percent likelihood that you've been divorced—compared to a 28 percent chance for Catholics and a 38 percent chance for non-Christians.

11. If you're of "below average" intelligence, you're 50 percent more likely to be divorced than those of "above average" intelligence.

On same sex marriage:

15. If you're in a male same-sex marriage, it's 50 percent more likely to end in divorce than a heterosexual marriage. If you're in a female same-sex marriage, this figure soars to 167 percent.

Lesbian marriages often end in divorce. I noticed the trend here as well.. most gays who asked for divorce are lesbians.

:hmm: I always heard the opposite on that stat... :dunno:

I have seen this first hand alot. I have tons of lesbian friends through sports and every one of them is on at least their 2nd live-in situation. What is even more odd is that they tend to move on to someone else within the same group. (within my group of friends that is.....don't know if that is the same everywhere)

Cake and gifts.........Hard to beat

1 divorce enough for me. There will not even been given a chance to have 2 divorces. 1 divorce messed me up enough......we all can guess my result if I got divorced a 2nd time

I don't like divorce :(

My parents are still married and they got married in 1954.

With those stats, most marriages would be in trouble!

I will admit it... my parents are together, about to celebrate 35 years with a renewal of vows ceremony but I am divorced (and much safer that way). Very Skeptical about trying marriage for a second time too.

I am with Doug...one divorce is more than enough for me. If I get a 2nd one, I am not marrying again!!! lol

Hmm. My father was divorced twice. Now, my dad has been married for almost 39 years. It is his third marriage. I guess, he is wiser.
