Disappearing car door!

How did the door do that without breaking the glass? That is really amazing, but one of the downsides that it won't be good for emergency situations.

Unfortunately, it is a repost! Someone has shown the video somewhere here

Well, I haven't seen that one! ... very space-age and futuristic! :thumb:

If you notice, the glass "rolls down" when the door is moving underneath.

Amazing! I would love to have it but only one con: where is Emergency escape? Hafta to break the glass no matter what!

It looks like it is in Europe? :dunno:

Thought so! Hopefully they do have explosive bolt to blow the door open in case of emergency just like jet figher have one to eject pilot before crashing

Well, it's like a non-rolling garage door, but upside down. The glass or the door never bends, it simply slides under the car cabin somewhere.

As far as emergencies go, quick disconnect to detach the door could work, disconnect then the door can either fold down manually, or simply come off.

And in fact, this has already been used on the rear door of many station wagons, since years ago. (the disappearing door, not the quick disconnect)

DOT would never allow an explosive bolt on a car... they'd have to build in quick disconnect or release. besides I like car doors as they are so I can bash in the doors of assholes that park so close and don't even leave me a F*&%ing can opener so I can get into my car!
