Digital Camcorder Help

Ok, here's the deal. I want to create short and optimized clips that I can put on a website for others to play. The camcorder I'm looking for has to be dummy-proof, easy to edit movies, and the price range has to be between $500-$1,000.

Also, what program(s) out there do I need for movie making on a PC platform? No Mac here, sorry. Hook me up with some 411! Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that Quicktime might help. I dunno... Why don't you visit your local SEARS or BEST BUY and find out from their employees. That way, you can find something in range. Digital cameras are not hard to figure out. Give me any digital camera and I'll figure it out within a few hours.
