Deaf258, I don't want to start an argument here. you say, that trillian had tossed your buddy lists out of it? Can you tell me what is your specific that caused your buddy lists issue on trillian? For me, I never actually have problem with trillian pro. its never fucked my buddy lists up in my entirely life of period! i have no CLUE what you talking... unless you give me some specific that you hate trillian which got problem with you.? thanks!


FYI: Sure if the current versions YOU LIKE IT, but the most current version is (beta) 5.5.3553. its not final version... Get it? peace..

Whoa! You're behind news. It is not beta anymore, it is Final Release AIM 5.5.3572. AOL hired DeadAIM programmer to make the new AIM changes and features. As for Trillian, when I used it, I would add or remove the buddy names. Then I would go on long vacations and borrow family's or friends' computers to use normal MSN or AIM, I added and removed a few more buddy names. When I got home and used Trillian, I find out Trillian REINSTALLED all my old buddy names and maxed out my limit and lost some of the screennames. There was no way around this problem. I would fix the buddy list, close and and open again. Same shit happened all over again! Augh! I was so fucking pissed, uninstalled the mofo and threw Trillian in the recycle bin!

Me too. I had to uninstall AIM 5.5 and reinstall it. Finally, stupid Wild Tangent is GONE!! Unwanted bloatwares :rifle:

It does fuck up your buddy list if you don't know what you're doing. I had problems with my buddy list until a month later, now I love it and my buddy list is just the way I want it! :thumb:

I knew what I was doing. Trillian wouldn't dispose the old list and load the new buddy list automatically. If it took that much work to get it right, then it should get one star for usability.

WildTangent is not gone. It is now lying dormant on your harddrive, until you press that Games button inside AIM. Until then, WildTangent will spring back to life! If you press the games button, you'll have to rescan with your anti-ad/spyware.

ADvers, I was thought, why not you the AIM users, ought check this release AIM-Plus * for your version of AOL Instant Messenger: Note, that at this moment, AIM-Plus supports AIM versions from 5.2.3292 to 5.5.3572.

After playing around with AIM Plus, I now recommend anyone against downloading the program. The program does need a lot of works to do. If you have to have such programs, stick with Dead AIM or some other programs -- for now...

I am aware of Dead AIM and the newer AIM versions. There is or was someone planning on releasing a program called Ostego (sp?) but he hasn't shared with the public.

they do NO longer provide
quick "Switch changing screenid" option
anymore. With this new 5.5, you
have to sign off completely and then
sign on with a different screenid.

I am so afraid to un-install this new
version 5.5 and go back to the
older version which I still prefer.

I cannot stand these notifications so
I just turn them off.

Wait.. you don't need to do that anymore.. just add more sn then one or two can be online at the same time and click the eye to make one sn invisible.. that's why they make the switching obsolete now!

DeadAIM 4.5 Released

Good news for DeadAIM fans. JDennis.net has released DeadAIM 4.5 which is compatible with the latest version of AIM. Go get it now.

I have not tried DeadAIM 4.5, so if you want free copy, search elsewhere like file-sharing services. :)
