Oh my gosh.. it's so kewl.. it even tells you when your buddy signs in and signs off.. :)

If you did, what you guys think about the new upgrade? :)

Well, I know. But it's obviously inspired by the MSN features.

But at least the webcam feature work better on AIM than MSN.
 
well, it is more annoying than MSN with those "notifications".. I turned off the notifications and just used the good ol' alert feature! I like the new 5.5 so I can be ghost!

Yeah, I found it incredibly annoying when I'm being notified that a person is idle or not idle anymore.

I changed the settings, whew!
 
you see that tiny eye on the buddy list? If you click on it and the eye closes, that means other people won't see you. If you click it again, other peeps will see you!

That's what I mean about being the Peek-a-boo ghost!

Yes, u can hold 2 screennames or more in same buddy list. how kewl!!!
 
Interesting -- but it has completely disabled DeadAim, a program I was using with AIM -- :(
Oh well...the newer version of AIM does look and feel a better sort, I guess. Have only used it for a few days, so give me a few more days or so to get the feel of it and decide on what I think of it.

I still say Trillian is better. Trillian tells me when each member signs on & off, is away or back from away, when I am disconnected, when a file is sent, etc. It tells me pretty much everything! Hahaha!
 
Yeah and like THEIR GAMES!!! how fun! play with eachother on AIM games :D

however the notification is very annoying i just turn it off..
 
I just tried AIM 5.5 again, like it after I removed some unwanted bloatware like Wild Tangent (spyware).

DeadAIM was bought out by AOL some months ago, I believe the man (Joe) who made the program is working with AOL now. The current AIM (5.5) has some of the DeadAIM features. You might want to try another program called middle_man. :)

I had the same problem, too. I really depend on DeadAim and it's the only program that works better than any other programs. So, I uninstalled the lastest AIM and installed an older version of AIM because it's the only version that enables DeadAim.

If you're not happy with the newer version and would like to stick with DeadAim then go to http://www.oldversion.com/ and get AIM 4.8. ***Make sure you uninstall the latest AIM version and DeadAim then re-install both programs again. It should work.

I am sick of having three instant message in one. I prefer one - I use native AIM. That's it.

Trillian is so annoying that it will ask you to update when there is certain instant message update.

I still say Trillian suck. :P

Yes, I updated my aims yesterday....I notice there was this tiny eye on the buddy list....I didn't know what it was for so I clicked it and the eye closed...then I im Cheri and asked her if she could see me on buddy list she said no.... :lol: ..LOVE It!...*hidding as a Ghost*...

My Trillian never asks me for updates. It's AIM that bothers me with updates constantly.

:werd: so For me, better stick with Trillian pro, it is the full-package!! :naughty:
