It happened last night when I explained to my husband about my hives reaction to a puppy I am taking care. Petting the puppy isn't a problem but once it drools on me while asleep on me or nudging its wet nose onto my bare skin-- hives break out and I had to wash the exposed portions to relieve myself... Here is the irony: I don't have this reaction with my husband's family dog and my close friend's dog. I kiss both and let them lick me... and no hives or rashes break out...
C theorized that I got used to these dogs while developing an allergic resistance to other dogs...
Bleaky about not having my wish coming true-- to owe a dog...I decided that if this allergy is permanent, I wouldn't mind getting a hypoallergic dog. He shook his head: "uh, it won't help."
"Why not?"
"Because hypoallergic dogs are for people who are allergic to its dandruffs/hairs.. you are allergic to dog's drools."
A light bulb went off above my little hidden blonde head--"Oh I will get a bald dog then..."
There was a disappointing look at C's face .... as if I won the world's blondiest award...
I went: "what? why are you looking at me like that?"
He emphasized: "Think, K... Think..."
It struck me. Bald dogs still drool even if they have no hair...
