Pictures doesn't mean it's proof. Insurance are greedy. And I thought Canada universe medical care take care for her?

What.... that's stupid!!

Hope she get it back!

:wtf:

And just cause someone posts photos on FB of having a good time doesn't mean they don't have depression.

She has friends that takes her out to cheer up and help her forget her problems. It does not mean it cures her of her depression. Being clinically depressed means you'll have your up and downs frequently.

That insurance company is run by a bunch of idiots. In fact, most insurance companies are run by idiots anyway.

Yiz

That's ridiculous!

you know A long time neighbor of mine had a mother who had depression. But the problem was that none of us knew, because she always seemed cheerful and happy...

Then one day...She committed suicide. We were shocked!

depressed people do tend to hid their inside feelings...

But a photo, anyone can fake a smile. People don't want you to know they have depression, especially on FB out in the public around their co-workers, high school friends, husband's family, etc.

Why do you think people always post happy and positive statuses when we know people are not 24/7 happy?

Pretty stupid. They don't really care about her. They only care abt the money.

I know a few people who have been diagnosed with depression who go out to party to try to get away from it only to find it return as soon as they return home. The insurance company executives arent qualified pychologists. What a bunch of greedy crooks!

I just wonder know how much truth in this. I mean how do insurance go around snooping on people's FB and KNOW this is the same person. And why do they think one profile picture (assuming they can't access her FB) tell a whole story about her?

This shows that we gotta take great care when we're at Facebook... everything there will be under scrutiny when you get in trouble with the law or your job over Facebook issues... it happened to my wife recently.

Just be careful!

I keep my account private and do NOT add anyone that I don't know to my account.

what is puzzling to me - she said that she kept the account private and the insurance co. still got in somehow... either she didn't really keep everything locked safe, or someone in her circle is a snitch, or the insurance co. got a court order (which I doubt)

I guess I shouldn't really say anything until I walk a mile in her shoes, but I think if she can muster up the effort to go on a vacation, she can pull her shit together enough to go to work. She needs to get help, not have the government enable her by giving her money and an excuse not to confront the issues that are causing her depression. If she doesn't have a reason to face her depression and deal with it, she won't.

At the same time, I think it's outrageous that the insurance company was snooping around her FB profile and made a decision based on that.

Canada covers treatments of illnesses (doesn't cover psychology or dentistry.) It does not cover leave of absence, vacations or unemployment.

Was it the workers' compensation insurance she was trying to get?

I don't know what to think other than assuming that they thought she was pulling a scam to get more money.

yeah, I was wondering about that too.

That she quit work because she claimed she is so disabled because of her depression.

People with depression really should not stay home alone anyway. It makes it worst. If she claim she is in rehab, I would understand. But yeah, if she says she can't work because she is so depressed all the time, but managed to have a great time at vacations, I guess I can see where they are coming from. But sometimes work does trigger depression and does affect her work performance. But anyway, it is really no body business what they do on FB. FB profiles and statuses are usually fake because they don't want to spoil anyone's day by posting their negative depression side of them.

Supposedly people on welfare or a fixed income needs some counseling or psychological help, the cost of services are covered by the universal health care.

It is common that they are referred to see counselors or psychologists at the local non-profit service agencies.
