I filled out the low income forms and went to my dentist appointment. Everything was smooth till the end. I went to establish myself as a patient with a tooth pain. The hygienist took xrays of my teeth. The hygienist bumped my new glasses and I was told to be still. The xray tube stayed continuous contact with my new glasses while she went out of the room to take the x-ray. I felt the continuous contact of the xray tube settling down and stopped bouncing. I was very concerned about it damaging my glasses but told to be still. My companion interpreter, my wife, was with me during my visit to help me with what I or they don't hear. I'm severe-profound HOH and fall on the deaf side in medical terms defined by the USA federal government. We left the building and while in their parking lot, I discovered that my glasses were scratched, a small scribbled like scratches. We returned to the dentist office to make a report and to document the accident and asked them to pay for the glasses. While I was having a hard time communicating with the staff, my companion interpreter was translating my claims that they scratched my glasses. I asked them to confirm their claims that they were not responsible, several times. I wanted to supervisor to document that I was there and I reported it. she said she couldn't do that either. I tried to negotiate a little further and she said she would ask the CEO. She came back to told us to leave right away. The security, I believe is the city's police force, arrived to escort us out. The supervisor told us she would contact us regarding my status with the office and my next appointment. When I got home, I viewed the scratches and discovered that they were ray-ban logo, RB, etched in cursive onto the lens. I first saw it backwards on the back side of the glasses and looked like scribbled scratches. I wanted to contact the office to express my deepest apologies and was sincerely sorry for my claims. My companion interpreter went back to the office in person to apologize to the staff. They refused the apology and told me not to ever come back. They told me to take it up with CEO (believe it was his decision to instantly remove me from property and the roster) I'm having trouble contacting the CEO's office while deaf. We stayed on hold for a long time even with the phone system telling us there was a 2 minute wait time. Personally, I'm afraid to apologize to them after hearing reports of the police force killing deaf people for not hearing their commands. I think something is wrong and I feel violated by the staff.
Can anyone, here, give me suggestions on how to handle this and Who I can contact while still having tooth pain?
