Declaration of Occupy Wall Street

Just like playing with a laser pointer with my kitten. Move that little red dot over there, she follows it. Move it over there, she stalks it and then when she thinks she got it cornered, she jumps on it. Move it up the wall, she jumps up hoping to grab it. And then I make circles around her, and she spins like top. Quite funny and fun to watch! And it never occurs to the kitten that it's just a red dot that can't be touched, cornered or captured. But as a rule, never, never point your laser beam at the eyes.

Now I know why you use other people's words instead of your own to express your thoughts.

I think somebody has been inhaling a wee too much fumes. Somebody better check the car for any leaks, carbon monoxide is a deadly killer these days.

I smell trolling.

It's not right for the protestors to be attacking police unprovoked (if indeed it is unprovoked, which I have my doubts over), especially with deadly objects, but I really feel like the police brought this on themselves.

What I think is ridiculous is that the media (and the little trollies here) are making a big deal out of a few cuts and scrapes on police, but nobody mentions the dozens and dozens of protestors who have been injured by police, unless it's a serious injury like taking a rubber bullet/tear gas canister to the head.

It's going to get even uglier before it gets better.

i'm afraid you might be right on this one.

And even then, they try to justify it.

And yet all they had to do was obey the law. Assaulting an officer is a crime. Enforcing the law isn't.

Yep

Nobody mentioned it? None at all?

Over the past ten days, more than a dozen cities have moved to evict "Occupy" protesters from city parks and other public spaces. As was the case in last night's move in New York City, each of the police actions shares a number of characteristics. And according to one Justice official, each of those actions was coordinated with help from Homeland Security, the FBI and other federal police agencies.

Hmmm....federal help?

Nancy Pelosi: ‘God bless’ Wall Street protesters

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday praised the thousands of “Occupy Wall Street” protesters crowding New York City and other cities across the nation.

“God bless them for their spontaneity,” Pelosi told reporters. “It’s young, it’s spontaneous, it’s focused and it’s going to be effective.”

The comments from Pelosi, the top Democrat in the House, came after President Barack Obama embraced the protesters in a nationally televised news conference, saying their furor would “express itself politically in 2012 and beyond.”

Compare and contrast with her sayings about the Tea Party.

Choking up, Pelosi said:

"I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. We are a free country and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we have to carefully balance. I saw…I saw this myself in the late seventies in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave—it created a climate in which violence took place. I wish that we all again would curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made, with the understanding that some of the ears this is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume."

Pelosi added that people should be careful about inciting violence.
