How do you deal with being unable to hear other co-workers at work such as in social side of work like unable to follow convo?

I'm placed in my comfort zone. I work 11p to 7a so I'm trying to work and chill. I'm not usually even interested in their conversations because usually it's gossip!!! So to be honest most of the time I'm comfortable being hoh, not being able to hear those birds chirp. Now when I'm interested I usually get close to have eye contact as well. How do you deal with being unable to hear other co-workers at work such as in social side of work like unable to follow convo?

I work outside most of the time... If coworkers want to talk to me, they get my attention. They all know I am deaf and that is fine. At first they did the normal things but have chilled a lot. If they are worth my time they will give me some of theirs to be able to conversate with. Otherwise I just do my job and go home, I do not have a job to make friends... I have one to make money... May seem harsh or mean but that is my opinion...![]()
Most people don't notice or would treat you any differently. There are of course clueless people out there (on just about any topic) but thankfully there are not that many of those types and complete jerks.I don't wear my hearing aid at work. I only have hearing loss in one ear and most people don't even know I have it. sometimes I feel like I need to wear it but don't want people to treat me differently because of it.
