Ah I think you know what "group think" is......you used we.

as for thinking his journey is special.....I would hope he thinks that.

I think Jiro meant that his journey is not unique...everyone's journey is special.

Here's a wild idea: let's get back on topic.

Fine but I say my journey is unique. Think of it as a thumbprint. It's unique but they all may seem identical but when you look at it closely it is definitely unique. Your journey is unique.

Not twisting anything. I am asking you a question. Why are you asking that? To me, it sounds like I should stop contributing to AD.

You are twisting, son. Note the fact I said "these threads" referring to the threads implying "labels" as you put it, never AllDeaf.

You know perfectly well what I mean. I've seen quite a few people say they understood your point, and I understand where you're coming from. Therefore, your opinion has been registered. Liked/accepted is another story.

With that said why continue to haggle around in this thread? After all you wanted it simple - the simple thing to do actually is to leave it be.

I would guess various viewpoints have been articulated many times. Not sure as I have been here almost a year.

As this a discussion of "deafhood"- is this part of "deaf values"?

No, it is not for me to decide. It is for the individual to decide. It is for me to observe and point out the difference between identifying yourself as deaf and making Deaf your identity.

You still don't get it.

Umm ..... Here is what I don't get..... Who asked ya? Did a deafie ask you to observe and help us with our identity or identifying ourselves?

Eh? We all were asking, or didn't you notice?

Well I certainly didn't.... So not all. I am sure there are others too. If I wanted help with understanding my deaf journey I certainly wouldn't ask a hearie....

You said, ".....why take a part of threads like these?"

I responded, "This is a forum. A place to provide alternative viewpoints from people with hearing loss, and anybody else who have an interest. I have an opinion and viewpoint. So do you. The world continues to spin."

You responded,"I am pretty sure we have registered your input, so why continue?"

I responded, "I should stop contributing to AD? Are you saying that?"

That is not twisting when I asked you to clarify your response, "So why continue?"

Even though I already made it clear in the beginning that, "I have an opinion and viewpoint."

When people respond to my comments and I feel that I need to respond as well. But why the focus on me? Again, I'm asking you a question, are you saying that I should not contribute?

In the other thread you said you haven't picked up the book by Ladd, would you?

I'm saying in this thread you've contributed enough.

There. You finally said it.

As for me, I'll continue as I see fit and contribute my opinions/viewpoints, and respond accordingly.
