Deafchat closed?

2C did Rule.. and still does! ;)

I met many great online friends through deafchat, it was my first contact with other deaf and opened my world right up at a time where I was struggling with many things. Most public chat rooms are full of people that you wouldn't be busting to get to know, but you have to wade through those to find the real gems, and for what its worth, its worth the patience!

Kangy! Goodtaseeya! I know what you mean; it is worth it. Btw, where/what's happened to the other Aussie lassie....Red somebody, an interpreter?? I think there was another interpreter, too; do you know what's become of them?

Thanks Tousi, Red Hot Lady and Oz Kitten are who I think you mean. Yes they both were and as far as I know still working as interpreters. They seem to have dropped off the online scene, or perhaps they visit different places to where I go these days?

I pop into deafchat on rare occasions in the hope of spotting any of the 'old days' chatters and to chance meeting a new gem in there. Anything is possible!

Auntie, its good to know my online partner in err "extra cirricular" endeavours is still about. *raises my hand cuffs you ye lassie*..

I miss the old times in there especially 40something.. (dang good memories) I went in not long after it opened up in 1998. Since 2002 I rarely go there, then stopped going there since last year. It's not the same since the old times and lost interest with that site and stop going there anymore.

yeah I remmy RHL and Oz Kitten too, well kinda missed them both too, Oh there's was 2 chatters i gotten to 'know' they were Very intelligent ladys, I really adored them, but very sadly they both passed away, one died of cancer, and another of Lupus. they will be sadly missed. Tongue on Fire (TOF) and curly -something or Miss something - she was only 32, from australia and dang she was gifted with imagination and creative writing. RHL, Oz, and Kang would prolly know her name /real and/or chat-sn I cant recall her name.
i remmyed King Croat as was well, we shared interest in computers and overclocking and even dabbled in linux as ealry as 2001, I had ran Mandrake, Red Hat, even FreeBSD (unix) blah those were the days. now I just consider computers as a 'phone box", student's office and as a gaming device nothing more.
There were a mesermising cyber session or 2 ha ha, at one time we 'cybered' in open room LMAO, it wasn't me, (i did typed it) but the alter-ego me was kinda strange, almost like participating in making a comic-sex-romance characters dialouges LIVE, what an experience it was- lol. Others has more flairs than I did of course. but yeah that particular night or night was amazing as I didnt believe i'd could do it. I also remmy being "Donkey Kong " LMAO with an ape suit, that was funny. good crowd , fun times were had. The early java chat scene on the internet - especially Deafchat was like the fast cars of the 1960-1970's they were the best, simple, big and fast, easy to transplant different motors and cheap, so hot-rodding was way cool, that nearly everybody could do it, it was the 'right time'. I dont think future chatting is going to be the same, not as much as much fun as we did. The fad has faded i believe. We were there when text chatting as it's best. Just like it was for the hot-rodders.
 
Curious Do you know about that man used several screen names to enter the chat room and Aim years ago?

Yes, I have a feeling I felt like I know you from somewhere too. I did have aol chat room but I haven't been there very much lately since I just had my baby last may. I am sure u must have know me under TigerRoseGem in AOL. Smile. It been a while I been to chat room lately.

Yes!!! I know you! :hug: How the heck have u been??! I no longer have AOL, so I haven't been in that chat room in a long time I'll say two years or so.

LOL, I am doing good, Been busy with my life and remodeling my house little by little with the house repairs and remodeling and I got my bathroom fully done and remodeled with everything new, and the baby room done and new sofa, and now trying to save extra money for kitchen and dinning room remodel to make a bigger kitchen lol. It been a while and long time to chat with you. I am still using aol as long it FREE service since I use DSL. I don't have to pay AOL service anymore since it free. Thank God I save extra money. It been a while to hear from you!! lol... I am so glad you remembered me lol I remember you too heee. hugs :fingersx:

GTM ... really? Real normal AOL or you meant from aol website. I know I can visit aol website to check things out but can't chat in normal chat rooms like I used to chat in when I was an aol member. I know I can chat in AIM chat rooms but it's different from AOL chat rooms

yeah same here.. aol is free as i have byoa.. so its cool.. :)

I havent been to dc but only deaf chatroom in AOL but havent been there since 5 yrs now.. as i lost interested in that due to immature scrollers etc. ugh! sigh.. my user name in deaf chatroom was Ginger2smile.. dont know if you know me?? ha.. :)
