Can't stop lol'ing

Ouch this video is gonna hurt Sorenson's reputation. I can't shake the feeling Big Brother is watching us. * shudder*

Yeah, I agree his vlog about instruction.

Sorenson SignMail video messages have been VRS only. Not P2P (Point-to-Point). Why?

P3 PurpleMail video messages have both of P2P and VRS. Purple have developed it soon for which Sorenson users can view Purplemail message. I hope..

I have to agree with his assessments on the video part. Sorenson is insulting the collective intelligence of the deaf community by telling us what we ALL already know and for them to tell us and specifically what clothing to wear just rubs me the wrong way.

The so called video instructions made me feel that they think we're retarded and need to be told how to do things the proper way. Excuse me, being deaf does not equal as being retarded.

Who came up with these video ideas? I think whom ever came up with these ideas does not have enough experience in understanding the deaf community and is ignorant of us. That person should resign and find work elsewhere.

Yeah...

In a country where they had to put warning labels for hot coffee on cups.

Hey buddy! We needed those labels. None of us knew and we just kept putting them in our laps while driving!

There is nothing wrong with Sorenson giving tips how to use VRS services better. I have seen people wear loud plaid shirts and it was hard to read their signs !!! I will never forget the one deaf caller with a jungle print behind him on the wall. It was wild to read his signs .

And remember, there are new people getting videophones all the time and they might benefit from the tips.

So, I applaud Sorenson for giving tips in how to use the videophones more effectively...

Don't be such an introvert folks !

You're right. There's nothing wrong with giving tips. However, there was something wrong with how these tips were worded. I felt the same when I got those videos.

After few minutes when I watched the first video, I closed it and deleted it because I already know what to do and I don't need to be told over and over about video etiquette on how to use proper lighting, wearing proper clothing, etc. I know Video Media is brand new but still they need to work on P2P for leaving video mail such as Purple Mail, or Z Mail which I really like it very much. But something about Sorenson, there is nothing new because I don't think Sorenson will ever come up with a idea about leaving P2P video mail messaging. I would think they would just stick with leaving only just hearing callers to leave message on Video Mail, which it brings more disappointment to more VP200 customers. Think it would happened on VP300? It will not happen for VP300 which that idea is just nothing. I don't think they would even bother to plan on creating Video Mail for P2P and Hearing callers. So, I think that deaf vlogger in that video got a valid point and certainly agree with him. But, on the other side, I think tips can be useful only for new customers who finally received the VP200. I can see some pros and cons in this thread which it is a good discussion here.

Well I can see it from the mkrajnak point of view and I understand it from sorenson point of view. mkrajnak is right we are not in 3rd grade and don't insult our intelligence. However I can see it from sorenson point of view- There has been too many terps complaining about view issues and some terps try to tell them they cant see but not allowed to say that whats causing problem but call tech support. slow speed, not enough light, vp zoomed all the way in and you sit all the way back (big one) and wear clothes or have busy background moving that makes vp try to decode too much sending more data then needed eating up the upload bandwidth etc, etc, etc.

I think sorenson should stop the videos training and let the terps send a flag. Everytime the terp is in a call with a deaf person and the video isnt clear for some reason, after ending the call, they should be able to click a flag and add personsonal comments if needed then go on to the next call. Sorenson have to have a record of the calls anyways for billing to get money for the minutes used so why not collect data about the end users from terps? IF there is alot of flags in a short time, then you know that person needs help, less tech support calls, less waiting time, automatic assignment of a tech support or installer, etc.

I can't remember how many times I try to explain to someone that there is poor lighting when they ask why thier video is dark. If I had a nickel for every person I talked to on VP with poor or no video because of a issue on THIER end, not THE VRS hardware (sorenson, purple, CSD etc) I'd be retired millionare by now.

This message is NOT for the intellegent deafies- GET OFF the computer when making a vp call! it eats the video bandwidth! you say you have alot of lights, THEN MOVE IT CLOSER!!!! you zoomed all the way in and sit way back there just because you have the zoom feature and you dont want to move chair or tv closer?! Then what can you expect for video quality?!

Sorry ladies and germs, just had to rant here. :ty:

Exactly, thats how i felt when i receiving these pointless tips. I decided to called tech support to remove me on subscription for tips and yet they said there is no way of removing any else off on list. shrugs... its annoy but im glad sorenson stopping spreading these tips for a little while. Hopefully they arent doing it again in near future.
