Deaf Jack Russell Terrier

Gosh, Sasha. Ya have no idea how much confidence we have gotten by reading your posts and others, too. :) We will go for Riley, & he will be part of our extended family! :)

Thank you for sharing! :) :ty:

What a cute dog and wow it is deaf too. Wish my dog was deaf as mine is a jack russell too. Tell you one thing they are loyal and very protective of u and ur family so if strangers comes around it can be possessive by staying by ur side and growling like my does but who knows with the one u have since u say it deaf so could be different.

I have a fully fenced area cos my one loves to get out and run down the street.

Can be very damn stubborn at times but also loveable when it suits it mood.

Loves cars and walks. Very active and hyper when excited.

Nusicance at nite time cos want to know everything that happening outside since mine is hearing so wouldnt think ur would be doing this since it is deaf.

Loves it food so be careful how much one feed it.

Hope this helps in a small way.

Har, har, har, very P H U N N Y! :) They ain't ALL black! :) Sheesh, relax dude or dudette :) I have no idea if you are a female or male. I will just send you tons of all black cats over the internet anyway! :) :) J/K :)

Remind me not to visit your home on Halloween day... :giggle:

Hi guys!

Just curious if anyone have any experience with deaf dog.... specifically Jack Russell?

I was working one day, & a friend of mine was showing me a flyer to adopt a deaf dog. I happened to have my Sidekick in handy, so I took a picture of the dog. I sent it to my fiance, & he wanted it SOOO BADLY! All I did was to SHOW him the picture-- not to ask him if we could adopt it! We already have 3 black cats (very friendly & independent cats) :), so this dog is ALL WHITE. It would be awesome to have the dog, but I just wanted to hear from others on their experience with a deaf dog. I know every breeds are different, but just wanted to hear the pros/cons.

We already visited to see the dog, Riley, and MY GOSH he was A D O R A B L E & SMART! He wasn't all hyper and jumping around like a normal Jack Russell. He was so g o o d! The couple, who posted the flyer, works at a vet, so they did something right with Riley when they got him. They already have 3 dogs, 4 cats, so they didn't want Riley to feel left out or others feel left out. They wanted Riley to have a better home with owners focusing on him as much as they can.

Anyway, enuff of me going on and on and on. The owners will be coming by our house to see if our house is adequate enough to suit Riley's needs (fences, ... gee, I have no idea what else?! He doesn't need doorbell flasher! LOL)

Wanna hear your feedbacks!
Thanks! :)

Our place have been clean frequently, so we wouldn't worry about that.... Oh, well, if it does get TOO messy, then we will have ya to come over and clean the place up for us! :) :) :) Whaddya think? :) :) :)

Jeez I think its misunderstood!? I didn't mean that Clean up your home.. I probably typing horrible language? :giggle: so anyway Here I mean

So I could be typing "fix up" instead clean up! So I mean that fix up your home alike fix up pillows on sofa, picking up my daughter's toys on floor and show your smile to the owners feeling them warm welcome into your home... And I just kidding about tell your cats to good behavior when the owners will coming to your house.

So Guess that the owner became give you to be new owner of puppy? If yes so then Congratulate and sorry abt this :):):)

You are soo welcome as you will find that the JRt is such a blessing to have in ur life as I have found with mine even though she can be stubborn but I just love her to bit and wouldnt even think of getting another like her cos like they says each dog have their own individual personality that make them who they are.

I can just be thanksful having her in my life and still with me even though she is getting old now and is losing that hyper energy now thank goodness for that at long last can get more sleep and peace. Chuckles!!

Good luck with Riley and im sure u will have so much fun with him.

An updated picture of Riley! :)

Aw cute! But I saw my friend having a deaf cat.. So it should be easier to taking care of a deaf dog because you only need is step your foot on the floor to call him and etc like that, could sign to him to teaching him to learn to understand what word mean for, like "sit", "eat", etc like that... He could understand them...

But I never experience with Jack Russell Terrier, you could ask someone in here who have one...

one of my kittens i suspect he is deaf... he is all white with blue eyes.....i am going to give him away to a good home who deserves him... he is adorable...

awww do you have a picture of him? :)

Sorry i dont have pic.... my camera is broken... i plan to get new one... i just found out he is deaf ths morning.. other kittens would run off scared... except this one.... he is deaf... i picked him up and checked him out... yes he is deaf... he is all pure white with blue eyes.. i called my vet... he told me that most of white with blue eyes cats are deaf...

Awww he looked sooo cute sitting there and glad to know he is living with you now and that he will be a joy in ur life.

Oh that's wonderful news! I love my dog, too - Jack Russell. She is hearing. Actually, she is a tomboy. hehehe. She is 3 years old.

Does your dog have broken hairs? My dog does. I am thinking of buying a FURminator deShedding tool ("razor" comb) for my dog.

Present - She don't look like a Tomboy, but she loves to play rough.
Actually, she loves to flirt my sister's one of three cats. She "worships" the cat. It's unbelievable.
