In the article, the parents had a feeling that something was stuck in the ear canal but yet, the doctor didn't detect another side effect other than the suspected ear wax? They have been to different doctors and hearing specialists over the years and that alone could have told you something else because like SxyPorkie pointed out of the severity of the pain that is lodged in the ear canal. It makes me wonder, did the kid ever say "Hey mom, my ear's hurting bad."? He probably did but the point is - with the severity of the pain, the professionals should have looked at it in another view to find out what was really bothering the boy.
