Deaf History Studies/Culture Books

Good morning to all!!

I am in search of Deaf History Studies/Culture Books. Ones that are very brief enough to tell me how deaf culture all "started". I am making an attempt to go to Grad School at Gally but in the meantime studying for the Standardized Testing (MAT) before I apply. So I wanted to go ahead and school myself on Deaf Culture and basically fill in the gaps of what I should know.

Any book suggestions? Greatly Appreciated!!!
 
I can't really suggest any good books since "Deaf Culture" is too loosely defined.

These are all classics.
 
You know as a hoh person you might want to get this one too....

I actually have a piece in it myself! But it's good for ANY hoh person or any parent of a hoh kid.

omg...THIS IS A NEAT WEBSITE....I need to get around more!!! Thanks soooooo freaking much deafdyke. I will surely invest as I feel like I don't know enough about my culture as HOH. Is there going to be anymore products or books for the site?
 
Not really sure about if there's going to be any more books. I know the person who writes the books.
And if you don't feel like you know anything about your culture as a HOH person then Gally would be an AWESOME place to go to....maybe get in by descibing how the hearing world really sucks in terms of accomondations and how it basicly denied you your idenity as a hoh person....I think the folks at Gally would LOVE that.And who knows? maybe you and I can impact pedagogy for the current crop of CI and hoh kids!
