Five months ago 3 News covered the story of a three-year-old American boy who after a brain implant was able to hear his parent's voice for the first time.
Grayson Clamp was born deaf, but has become the first child in the United States to have a brain implant to help him hear.
The first voice he heard was that of his father telling him he loved him.
Now he's catching up to other children his age.

i don't like it, highly risky procedure...and the obsession of 'hearing', Smithr what i cant understood is that CI failed you and you don't like it and yet you STILL posts up CI news , what for??
strange mix up

CI in news is 'always biased' to hearings viewpoint - they way THEY like it, they way they WANT us deafies to be 'hearing' its a bad evil media at play, feeding lies to hearing people about the real story of what's it like being deaf, and it almost never talk about deaf ways..never!

i hate it
so why??!
its like it's really stupid

whoa... you knew.we respect to media. It is very impossibles for unsuccefully. it is okay you knew. we accept to anytimes human disability (CI/ failure or can do successfully depend) we respect to everything to article review... it is very it okay!

of course i understand what he said. my question is why id he posting so many of CI-biased news when its just all he posts...its incredibly dumb it doesn't not work for his, or rather for ALOT of deafs...just another question how come media never reports that??
cover up, embarrassment, censorship (bribed by ci companies, hospital, governments agencies (who funds the surgeries,insurance companies?)
word 'respect' gets overused...ci companies and pro-PC-talks likes it because it controls voices of people who objects or tends to question...
all that annoys me, i mean you're allowed to say 'i refuse to respect, and say that's their view, i disagree and leave it at that, why people got so weak?! beats me

It's interesting to me and many other people. We are tracking the evolution of the deaf world.

Or rather the effectiveness varies tremendouslly......Yes,in SOME cases CIs produce amazing hearing results...........BUT, again even today end results vary especially with children.(and a lot of the "improvement" seen nowadays with kids,isn't due to improved devices....rather that they loosened restrictions on who can/can't get them......So kids who got SOME benifit from aids got implanted.and the pool of kids who didn't benifit all that much is a lot smaller)

i know...theres lots of cover ups...and lots of 'real researches' I READ about it ALL the TIME...its not assuming, I KNOW I see and ****ing READ about it ALL the time..its not imagined, like if you really quiestions things, HOW come the few reports, articles says the HIGH rates of failed, or in-betweens and so varied much more than they'd willing to admit..it really PISSES me off NO end...

Grummer - by now if you have followed any of my stuff, you know I do not trust the government and the media (most of it) is owned by corps who own the media. So, hey, I get you. Despite my problems with my own CI (right now, I hate it), they can help given the right situation and at this moment, it isn't my situation. But let me sit with you for a moment together - we don't trust the media. They are biased, pro-corporation and pro-Washington (aka corporate America), and lie. Botts: I can be and am on your side as well. There's nothing wrong with posting info about anything out here from the media that is known to be biased (watch me ski down this hill), pro-corporation, and lies :) . We all deal with it.

Honestly, I rarely watch the "news" this days. The Washington Post is owned by Amazon. Buzzzzzz. The WSJ is garbage and owned by Murdoch. Shot through the heart. I do not know what the deal is for the NYT. So, I read, "The Onion," "The Huff," and "Democracy Now." I flip through the rest and really all of it in disbelief. Info is out there to create our reality but it isn't real. It makes sense if you think about it.

Yes, but we see through our filters that make up our eyes (as in, we see through the eyes of the beholder and everyone's reality may be different). As for my CI'd brain ear, anything that comes in sounds like a duck. So my processed sounds are way filtered.

it makes sense, its about media ownership...and those who controls media will influence the way people perceive what is "normal", taken as granted as "reality"...
Rupert Murdoch is an Australian mulit-millionaire (or billionaire?) who owns News Corporation which owns many others under it, Fairfax is one of which, among many...
