Dangers of CI !

The video is hilarious. :laugh2:

But seriously, I don't believe having cochlear implants would stop you from using sign languages (whether it be ASL, BSL, SEE, PSE, etc).

:gpost: I feel the same way.

Psssst, someone needs to tell the guy that throwing the speech processor in the bin won't stop him running off with cars, attracting horseshoes and nails (ewww!).

Funny video though - although I was laughing more at the absurdity and implausibility of it all.

I'm not laffin. I don't think it's not funnie. I think he is stupid joke makin a fun of ci, lol.

Really hilarious, but full of bunk! LOL I wonder if this is how the hearing world perceives CI's?

Yeah but you have to laugh at how unreal it is. I mean no one gets a CI because they keep knocking drinks over while vigourously signing. My favourite part was when he looked up the Yellow Pages and finds the "1 hour express CI" place. As if!

Although its so off factually, it was quite funny to see a bizarre attempt to make fun of the CI.

Chuckle. I had to laugh for much the same reason R2D2 laughed. You notice this guy didn't have to wear a bandage after he got his CI.

It's just absurd that the CI place was an hour express CI; I've had my operation postponed due to health reasons. That was my fav part too! Note the address: Alexander Graham Bell Dr. Cute.

Maybe I should've gone to that 1 hour xpress CI center instead? :giggle:

I didn't actually notice that but LOL! It suddenly also occurred to me that he could "hear" as soon as he left the building 1 hour later. Obviously no wait to get activated for him. We definitely went to the wrong CI centre I think!

As a materials engineer, the aluminum can and the shiny aluminum spike being attracted to the magnet were among my favorites. At least the horseshoe was steel!

I might be ready for a CI in a couple months, and I have a ton of questions. I'll cruise the message boards for answers before posting them, though.

I thought of that too, the dr pepper can is definitely aluminum, but I think the "spike" was just a big nail. probably a galvanized nail, which is why it was a zinc color and not a darker iron color.
