I accidently dropped my iPad 3 when I discard it from HoverBar for iPad - HoverBar for iPad - Twelve South and I forgot to unplug. It pulled iPad from my hand and dropped and hit metal tubar. It cracked the glass and bent on side.

I don't really like seeing this scattered glass - but the iPad still works. I can't decide wheither I should get it fixed or buy a new iPad 3... :(

Is it dropped on hard floor?

I dropped my iPad 2 several times on plush, thicker carpet and haven't notice any damages.

I've dropped my first edition iPad (yes, I got it when they first released) several times on the wood floor and it didn't damage it. However, that iPad 3, it hit metal tubar on bottom from Obutto racing rig, like this:

That's not my picture, got it off from random Google Image. :)

And it cracked the glass and bent on the side.

Edited to add: I used the iPad with iHud app for iRacing and I attached iPad to Hoverbar that attached to Obutto.

Oh I see, I'm surprised that Apple products are still fragile.

Apple needs put non-break glass screen in next generations.

Next time, just handle them like eggs.

Yeah, I noticed. I have few friends with iPhone 4S that have cracked glass. WTF? I dropped my HTC EVO on street and it didn't crack glass at all!

Oh wow, I dropped my iPhone 4S on hardwood floor twice and it didn't damage, also dropped few times on commercial carpet (rough, hard carpet, no padded) and still no damage, and dropped several times on plush thicker carpet in my room, and still no damage.

Of course, I would be mad if it got scratched... but I wouldn't blow up in raging fury. ;)

I take good care of my things.

There have been accidents where something will break. I'll get mad, but then just shake my head and move on.

I have a lot of technological stuff that are still working well because I take good care of them. :)

I look at it this way, health is irreplaceable, objects are. Life is unpredictable, so I'm not going to lose sleeep over a damaged object.

I think the only broken item I get upset about is my Jeep. When my previous one was totaled last year, I got upset.

Remembering some things that were broken when I moved before...:aw:...some were sentimental and could not be replaced...and I remember a very large picture that was broken by a friend of the family...(was expensive)....and that was over 10 years ago....and whenever I see him, I remind him of it :giggle:

I do the best to take care of my stuff. But if they get scratched or something, I try not to worry about it too much. Have had my ipod touch for about 4 years now, and broke the audio input hole on it a couple months back. Hey, I'm not like my sister... she just dropped her nice new ipod touch that she got a couple months ago in the bathtub!!! ...

My blackberry has some dings and stuff, but it still works. no biggie.

I did break the headpiece for my CI after only having my CI for barely a month, whoops... contacted AB and got it replaced pretty quick though, so no worries. Have been much more careful since then haha.

Would I be mad? Depends on if there is a new model out there or if my current one is irritating me. Would I take care of my stuff? Yes, I always take care of my stuff. It doesn't make sense not to take care of your stuff, IMO.

I try to be careful about my possessions in general. But if *I* damage them, then meh, shit happens. However I definitely don't like it when other people break or damage my possessions and aren't willing to compensate me for it.

Two of the biggest mistakes I ever made with electronic devices was... my Sidekick 3 and my computer keyboard.

I once spilled soda on it. I panicked a bit and then got a towel to absorb the soda. I then calmly unplugged the keyboard and took it apart to clean it up. I put it back together and it was like new again. :)

As for my Sidekick 3. Well, I left it in my jeans and did my laundry. I didn't realize it until 30 minutes later when I was looking for it. I panicked a bit and got mad at myself for making that mistake, but I calmed down and just said... "Whatever." My friend gave me his old Sidekick 3... then my girlfriend gave me her old Sidekick LX later. See, the problem usually solves itself... eventually. :)

I have also laptop damage/cell phone scratch / camera! I have cell phoen scratch repair :)

Maybe a good news for me... one of my co-worker told me that she know a place that can repair my iPad 3 for merely $30 to $50. She said she'll find out this weekend and let me know on Monday. I'm exciting!

Updated:

I went to Apple Store tonight and hoping that they will fix the damage which I don't mind paying for it. It turned out I just hand it in and get the replacement iPad and $300 less in my bank! :(

I would have suck up with cracked screen, but it's bothering me. I'm so picky... :(
