This is a simple question, between Dog and Cat.

If you are allergic to pets, just vote either dog or cat. Not another kind of animals.

cats :( I love cats but I can be near them and pet the cat a bit then that's it. Long hair forget it cuz it bother my eyes really bad! Short hair isn't too bad but I just be careful that's all.
 
I am allergic to dogs mildly. :( But I visited my parents who have two maggie and molly Yorkies. I did not sneeze at all! It makes me happy! I like small dogs that are the same size as cats' size. ;)
 
I love cats! but i am highly allergic to them. I used to have one and frequently needed my inhaler and lots of allergy medicines. But she is gone :( but I am not taking as much medicine as I did.

i am mildly allergic to dogs.

our son is the same way.
 
I am dog person but have mild allergies to dogs, so I just take med., and dogs aren't allowed upstairs, in bedroom. We also have filters on vacuum and w/furnace.
Tested very allergic to cats, but seem to be able to be around cats sporadically and handle it okay, nothing severe. But since we don't have cats and I don't know anyone personally who I see routinely at their residence w/cats, I don't know if continued/daily exposure to cats would become a serious issue as time went on.
I have volunteered extensively at shelters but worked mostly with dogs and had no problem. I DID have issue handling small pets and their bedding one time, it was in Summer and I also have Summer allergies. Also allergic to horses but it didn't prevent me from learning to ride. But I don't know if I could actually have horses or work in stable.
 
I am allergic to both. All we keep now are the more hypo allergenic breeds of dogs.

Cats and the more dander shedding breeds of dogs give me bad asthma and hives.

But we still managed to care for an unwanted cat for 13 years by keeping him out of the bedroom. Having special bedding for him that was washed each day , and vacuuming a lot.

I also take quite a bit of medicine for asthma and allergies.

But from now on I think my rescue efforts are only low dander dogs.
 
I am allergic to cats. When I volunteer at the Animal Shelter to take care of the cats, I learned that they make my nose stuffy, running and sometimes sneezing, too. If I stay with them longer, I would get mild sore throat and asthma. [sigh]

They have about 13 cats and some of them are there since 2006. They're fun and easy to take care of and play with but I can only last in a room full of them for two hours before I feel like I am about to die.
 
When I was a young kid I had dander hair allergy on animals.... but then I still had pets when I was growing up. So it seems that I must have grown out of dander hair allergy. :dunno:
 
I am allergic to cats, but I don't like cats so it really doesn't matter to me.
 
Look like I am the only one who voted that i am allergic to dogs. I know that is not very common. Dogs are so cute!
 
oh, Frisky, technically I am allergic to dogs, too, but not so bad as cats, which is why I can have 2 dogs-
 
usually people who are allergic to dogs only are really allergic to where they been into. Like weeds and grass (because dogs don't clean after themselves like cats do)

But it is rare for someone to be allergic to dogs and not be allergic to cats.

I'm allergic to both dogs and cats. If a dog lick me, I break out in mild hives, but not as bad as cats. I can handle a dog better because they don't have much saliva dander as cats (because they spend all their time licking and licking).
 
Yes. I am looking to find someone who is allergic to dogs and not be allergic to cats. I would like to share it but i haven't met anyone who has simlilar as me yet. :)
 
i didnt allergy both!! Im really love both cat and dog

my mom told me that my late grandfather allergy cat's hair!!
