Oh, please, loml. His being dead has nothing to do with it, because the wording is very straight forward and clear, and therefore, does not leave room for alternate interpretation.

I know that this is my first post and that I am getting into a huge discussion here but after reading the threads I feel that I can put in my opinion. After all, that is what this forum has really seemed to be about...opinions.

After seeing that your education jillio seems to have included many cognitive psychology courses (seeing how you keep referring to them) I would think that you would know that absolutly EVERYTHING you experience would be open to interpretation. So yes, there is room for everyone's own, alternate interpretation and everyone will have a slightly different one.

And that would depend upon which definition you are applying to cognition. I am referring to the biological processes involved in cognitive processing, not the subjective interpretation of such. If you would like to discuss these topics in relation to deaf education and psychology, I welcome you to join into the debate.

However, if you are referring to the one post that you quoted, perhaps you need to go back and review Kaitlin's post and see if you can find another interpretation in the very straight forward wording of Dr. Cornett's revision. But, then, in that case, you would be referring to perception, and not cognition.

I wrote a reply for every point. Now I delete it. I don't fight online and I don't think "Our World, Our Culture" is about CS argument so I don't add to the argument. I don't think I was unclear in my replies in the thread, so I don't need more replies. If I was unclear, I'm sorry and PM me about this.

Kaitin - I see no need for you to apologise. :) We are simply looking at things from a different perspective. I understand what you are saying regarding the revised statement. The implementations that other people have made with Cued Speech, were recognised by Dr. Cornett, those implimentations were never his intentions.

His words. His acceptance and belief of CS as a tool to facillitate speech. I doubt seriously that you knew Dr. Cornett in the early 60's and were privvy to his intentions. We do, however, have his own words from 2000 to tell us what he believed regarding CS at that time.
